The Story of a Hindu Woman's Belief in Surah Al-Fatiha

In an Arab tribe, there lived a non-Muslim married woman. Her husband was a wealthy businessman. One day, she heard that in the land of Arabia, meaning Mecca, Allah's last and most beloved prophet had received a revelation. This revelation was a surah called "Surah Al-Fatiha," which contained healing for every disease. Anyone on whom this surah was recited or blown upon would be healed, and it held countless blessings.

The matter was one of belief. Whether Muslim or non-Muslim, Allah can guide anyone He wishes to His light. Allah's power is beyond measure.

The woman learned Surah Al-Fatiha from someone. When she read the translation, tears filled her eyes. Whenever she recited the surah, Allah would help her fix her troubled affairs.

One day, her son was bitten by a deadly poisonous scorpion. Famous healers and doctors were called, but they all said the poison was too dangerous. The child had only a short time to live. The mother was distraught, and her husband, worshipping his idols, prayed for their help. When no solution was found, the woman remembered that Surah Al-Fatiha was said to cure every illness.

She thought to herself, "What if I recite this surah over my child? Will he get better?" Allah had already planned to guide her towards Islam, and her heart began to fill with love for the faith. Allah granted her the power of belief.

She recited Surah Al-Fatiha over the spot where the scorpion had bitten her son. To her amazement, her son sat up. Then, when she recited the surah over water and made him drink it, he stood up as if the scorpion had never bitten him.

Her husband rushed to her and asked, "What did you do? No doctor or healer could help, but now our child is fine." She replied, "I did nothing special. There's a surah that heals every illness. I simply recited it and blew it over him, and made him drink the water."

Her husband, instead of being happy, became angry. He said, "What kind of magic is this?" The wife explained, "Our child is alive and well, otherwise, we would have lost him." But her husband didn’t listen. He became furious, for he hated Islam.

As the wife continued her practice, he grew even more resentful and started abusing her. Every day, he would beat her and say, "Now that I've heard this surah from your mouth, I'll skin you alive." He had no belief in Allah's words, while his wife had complete faith.

What happened next was a powerful reminder of Allah’s help. One day, as the husband left for work, he put on his shoes and found the same scorpion inside, the one that had bitten his son. The scorpion’s sting, which had not harmed the child, now killed the husband. The poison spread through his body, and he died in agony.

The news of his death caused an uproar in the family. With her husband gone, the woman’s life fell into hardship. She was left in debt and distress. But then, she remembered Surah Al-Fatiha and thought, "Maybe reciting it can ease my troubles."

She began reciting Surah Al-Fatiha aloud, continuously, with complete trust and faith. As she recited it, Allah did not turn away her prayers. Within seven days, she received good news. A friend of her late husband came to help manage her business.

When the friend learned that the widow had no support, he said, "Don’t worry. He was like a brother to me. I will help you, and all your troubles will be gone." The man took charge of her business, and slowly, things began to return to normal.

One day, this man overheard her reciting Surah Al-Fatiha and asked, "What is this you’re reciting? Is it some kind of chant that brings benefits? Teach me!" She replied, "This is not a chant. It's a surah from the holy Quran, which was revealed to the Prophet. It’s called Surah Al-Fatiha."

She continued, "I have full faith in it. I learned it from someone and now I recite it wherever I go." The man, impressed, said, "Why don’t you become Muslim? If you believe in this surah so much, think how powerful the entire Quran must be."

She replied, "I would convert to Islam, but my husband never agreed to it."

The man said, "Now your husband is no longer here. Seeing your love for this surah, I am so moved that I want to become Muslim too. We will both learn and read the Quran."

She agreed, and both of them embraced Islam.
