The Shadow Of A Wave

Crashing Against The Shore

By Jessica PhoenixPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Waves crashed against the shore, blocking out the sound of distant roaring, although the creature’s identity remained a mystery. A child stood at the edge of the water, allowing the waves to lap her toes as she stared out into the horizon. Squinting as hard as she dared into the sun, she saw a graceful silhouette beginning to appear. A long, elegant, thin neck raised from the water, and a long fin ran the length of it; down the neck and onto the back. It turned towards the girl and seemingly smiled. It stayed for a moment, then dove downwards.
