Cam and Sam were sitting in the park enjoying a nice summer’s day in the park. Cam looked around and couldn’t help but notice how many people were taking selfies.
He turned to Sam and asked, “Why do people feel the need to take so many selfies?”
“It’s simple really. To capture the memories of course,” Sam replied.
Cam looked up at the sky. “Why don’t we try and capture the memories?”
Sam paused to think before replying. “You know. You just gave me an idea! Why don’t we get the best camera we can so we can capture them?!”
They decided to head into town to hunt for the best way to achieve the task of capturing all they could.
On the way into town, they came across an old antique store. They loved antique stores so they decided it was more than worth it to stop in and take a look. As they entered, they heard the sounds of an older woman greeting them.
“Hello. What brings you two in today?”
Cam and Sam paused then Cam replied, “I was looking for something that would help us capture the memories and take the best selfie ever!”
Now both of them knew that an antique shop would be the last place that they would find something. They decided it was best to leave and refocus on the task at hand when they heard the old woman say something interesting.
“I might have something that will help you achieve your goal.”
The old women smiled and headed for the back. Cam and Sam paused for a moment then started to follow her to see what she was talking about. She led them down a long dark hall in the very back of the store. They could see a table with a circle of candles around an item that was covered with a cloth. When the older woman lifted the cloth, they saw an old camera.
“I will give you this camera, but be warned, it comes at a cost,” the woman said with a sharp tone.
Cam and Sam smirked. “We’ll take it! Thanks!”
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” the old lady cackled then she passed them the camera.
At that moment, a gust of wind came in the room and all but one candle remained lit. Cam and Sam thought it was odd, but they proceeded out the front door.
The next day, Cam and Sam had a get together and decided what better place to test out the new camera then at the get together. Cam and Sam packed up the camera and headed out.
On the was over, they heard something that sounds like faint singing. ’Come and take a selfie with me, you can take it over the sea, you can take it with a bee or you can just take it with me.’ Cam and Sam just brushed it off and continued to the get together.
When they arrived, they were greeted by their friend, Ellie. She saw the camera and asked to take a selfie with Cam and Sam. They said yes, because they couldn’t wait to test it. So without haste, they set it up on a stump and got ready to take the picture.
Sam paused for a moment and listened. It was the same song again. ’Come and take a selfie with me, you can take it over the sea, you can take it with a bee or you can just take it with me.’
At that moment, the flash went off and Ellie was gone. Cam and Sam brushed it off and figured she was back at the get together so they went to enjoy the get together as well.
The next morning, they called Ellie, but there was still no answer. Cam said with sarcasm, “She must have had a good night.”
They chuckled and continued to prepare for the day. They decided to go back to the park and take photos. Again, they could hear the song: ’Come and take a selfie with me, you can take it over the sea, you can take it with a bee or you can just take it with me.’. They felt a creepiness growing, but they continued to snap photos.
The next day, they brought the film to get it developed. When they got the pictures back, their jaws dropped. All the photos were of dead people. This freaked out Cam and Sam especially when they saw the picture of Ellie. She was hanging from a tree with a slit across her throat. Cam and Sam recognized the spot. It was in the woods right behind her house.
When they got to the woods, Ellie was not the only one hanging but so was every single person they took a picture of.
“Come and take a selfie with me, you can take it over the sea, you can take it with a bee or you can just take it with me,” they heard a deep voice singing. A darkness emerged from the wood. It said with an evil grin, “You stole me! You are not my master!”
Cam and Sam froze in fear. Cam replied, “I can return you to your master! Please don’t kill us!”
“No, you can’t!” the darkness replied. “I burned her alive for betraying me like she did! Now DIE!”
Then two ropes fell from the trees and wrapped around Cam’s and Sam’s necks. The ropes thrust up into the trees with great force pulling so tight that the rope started cutting into the flesh on their necks. As Sam started to fade, she dropped the camera and it hit the ground creating a flash.
“NNOOOO!” The yell from darkness echoed as everything went dark.
To this day, the camera and the bodies have never been found, but if you listen closely, you can still hear the song: ’Come and take a selfie with me, you can take it over the sea, you can take it with a bee or you can just take it with me!’.
