The Secret Mystery Box
A Hidden Pirate Treasure Map

My entire life changed drastically overnight after receiving a mysterious package from an anonymous sender the day before. What I thought was going to be a perfect day staying indoors on the first day of winter. It began instead to unfold with a heavy snow blizzard that covered the forest throughout the day followed by a cold night, the icy wind send shivers up and down my poor aching back as my Ring camera detected motion at 5 am as I received an alert from my Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max that a large mysterious package was left at my front doorstep.
“Fear was the least of my worries,” said Davy Jones.
For you see, by now I had already learned to live off the land just like my grandfather taught me when I was a little boy. At first, I was very intimidated, but my grandfather was very patient with me. He wanted more than anything for me to be a survivor. The best way to accomplish this is by learning how to hunt effectively. Rather it's pursuing and capturing wildlife in order to harvest food. Hunting is necessary in order to stay alive.
With that being said, I felt my winter evening in Oregon was about to intensify with this strange thing on my doorstep. Without any warning, my dog Jack growled at it, sniffed, and pushed it down, with its large nose, but he won't get any closer to it. At that moment something was not feeling right. I clearly was overwhelmed by the whole situation at hand, especially on what to do with the large mysterious package.
“Hesitation is so overrated,” said Davy Jones.
"The truth is I really don’t know who sent it and why?" asked Davy Jones.
I mean, I never order anything online nor did my family or friends know my whereabouts. After the death of my grandfather, I was never the same. I just simply lost interest in finishing high school, being captain of the football team, working, and most importantly hated the fact he was gone. So one day I waited for everyone at home to leave then packed up my belongings in The North Face Vault backpack, next headed out towards the deep outskirts of the forest in Oregon and never looked back after that.
Fast-forward to the present, I no longer was calm about the matter, in fact, outraged so I made up my mind to open the large mystery package with my bare hands while Jack barked uncontrollably at me. Ripping the package apart on the front doorstep uncovers a cardboard box that I carefully split halfway only to unveil a black old chest filled with dirty cobwebs on every corner. My eyes get fixated on a key shaped like a pirate skull and crossbones dangled from the keyhole. I take a deep breath and turned the key slowly through the key slot in front of the chest. Suddenly a loud disturbing sound of wood creaking occurs as the nails holding down the wood start to contract and slip off the wood making it even louder rattling sound.
“Finally, it opens,” gasped Davy Jones.
Astonishment is only the tip of the iceberg of what is inside the wooden old dirty black chest. What I find are two swords, gold coins, and a hidden pirate treasure map. All at once, a haunting feeling comes over me. This may sound bizarre or superstitious, but I sense a horrible presence beside me. I pull out fast my ArmaLite AR-15 hunting rifle, turn around, and shoot at the spirit of a dead pirate who is barely visible with a cloud of darkness standing there laughing at me.
“Shiver me timbers! Boy, you can’t kill me! I’m already dead!” said The Dead Pirate.
"Besides, you’ll be right next to me as well as your dog Jack. Unless you find my buried treasure chest and the curse of The Black Diamonds will be lifted otherwise you will perish at the bottom of the Dark Red Sea forever. Do we have an accord?" said The Dead Pirate.
Davy Jones nodded.
"Good. An hourglass is ticking. Don't waste any more time. My ship the Black Diamonds is waiting for you to set sail by the Columbus River. Oh, and by the way if you find my buried treasure chest. I will reward you by setting free your grandfather from the depths of the Dark Red Sea," said The Dead Pirate.
"You mean he's alive!" screamed Davy Jones.
"Blimey! Your own father didn't tell you what really happened to your grandfather, did he? Well, there's no time for telling tales. You will find out sooner or later. Once you find my buried treasure," said The Dead Pirate.
Out of thin air, the spirit of the dead pirate and the cloud of darkness vanished!
"So now what?" said Davy Jones.
"As the song goes Yo-Ho-Ho!" excited Davy Jones.
A new adventure awaits me and Jack to find the lost buried pirate treasure!
