The Royal Designer

There was this well to do couple in the height of the Middle Ages. They were nobles of the sort both individuals came from their own lineage of nobility. They were liked by the King and Queen who invited them to every party in a seat of honor. Baroness Rena and Baron Norm were their names and they were a middle age couple without any children. They would spend a great deal of time dressing and making a complete outfit different than their other party outfits. They would lavish themselves in all the great fabric of the times all the way from Italy and China so partygoers would be fascinated with their outfit and to be the life of the party.

It happened that there was this rumor of a fascinating and upcoming designer, she was mentor by one of the designers that Baroness Rena used before but this designer, Ruel was apart of another kingdom and under a scrumplous lord. Baroness Rena however sought messages to Ruel secretly and requested her to come to her castle. Ruel refused for she feared her lord would punished her. Ruel did this many times until she finally sought back a message. If you buy me from my lord and take me from this terrible country then I will make whatever you want. And Baroness Rena plotted against the Lord, she held the party this time with the King and Queen and made a lavish entrance. She praised the King and Queen with her husband Baron Norm. The party was a success and a delight that everyone including the King and Queen talked about the party to other kingdoms. They even thought about promoting the couple to duchy making Baron Norm into Duke Norm and Baroness Rena into Duchess Rena. The couple humbly waited for days to see if they would be given a honor request from the King and Queen. The King and Queen requested in person whatever they could do for the couple and the couple appeared humble. They requested that the King and Queen give them weeks to decide what royal honor to be bestowed. Everyone rumored about what they would asked the King and Queen. Their servants could not keep the crowd from wandering. Some wanted them to have a child to be married to the King and Queen's heir. Some wanted them to accepted the duchy. Some wanted them to ask for gold and silver. Just about everyday everyone had an opinion.

Baron Norm and Baroness Rena in the middle of one night when everyone was asleep discussed their options in front of the big open moon. She wanted to make sure her husband was on board with her. She told him a dream about what she did and asked his opinion. I dreamed about this lovely dress, no one has wore it and no one has seen it. it was so lovely that people paid for me to wear it. You know how I yearned to be a princess and like a Queen. Who needs those titles when you can be treated as such. Honey you know I long for this and I have given up everything for you.

Baron Norm objected, wife of my dreams, woman of my desire. You are beautiful. You are a Queen and Princess. We have everything we need except a child. I love you without question. But this is our chance to build a family and how long do you think we have. The King and Queen are waiting and they will not be forever patient. I'm not asking you to give up your dreams only to think of us.

Baroness Rena called her servants from sleep and turning to Baron Norm. I wanted you to see this for yourself. See the woman you married arranged in fine fabrics from the East and Italy. See what this miracle designer can do if we release her from that evil lord. I am slightly younger than you my husband and I can give you many children. I just want this last time of youth to show what I always wanted to be.

And when he saw her arranged in silk and fine linen in a yellow fitting glown which elevated her bosom and delighted her hips. Anyone could see that his wife was the most beautiful woman in the kingdom and with fear he agreed. And he took hold of her that night and made sweet love to his wife in agreement under the half lightened candles of the castle.

The very next day, their servants came to the King and Queen with the Baron and Baroness requested. It said, Your majesties, we are duly sorry for any inconviences. You have been gracious since our marriage and before then. We enjoyed your company and the honor of serving you. Our simple request is for the release of Ruel from the Lord of Briege. She is a gifted servant and a woman of need of rescuing. We don't insist war only a peaceful transfer. We will treat her kindly and give her property within our realm and we ask that this be done swiftly. We are ever so grateful.

The Queen objected to the request privately but her husband the King was intrigued by the request. The King told the messengers to leave the throne room and to give them time to convene. On the thrones, the King implied that the Queen can demand an heir. The King replied, we can demand an heir from them. A beautiful princess or a handsome prince from the Baron and Baroness, let them have this request I pray that our kingdom may be established. You know how we don't like organizing parties but they do. They will have to serve us for the rest of their lives. Little for much.

The Queen admitting, I do like someone else entertaining my people. We are the strongest nation. They would not dare to betray us and take the kingdom. And they have been doing it for sometime without regret. The Baroness is pretty and quite beautiful. And the Baron is strong and decent. But if anything happens my husband, would you take the fall?

The King lightly accepted, I will be forever in your graces if anything happen. I may be the oldest but I am not gullible. I vowed to protect you with all my might even if that means war. You are my honor, You are my gracious and you are my beauty. After some time, the King arranged and authorized the release of Ruel in the soldier guarded carriage with all her things including designs and belongings plus a royal supply of resources. In a matter of weeks, she reached the border of that country and within days she reached the Baron Norm and Baroness Rena's castle. After the couple greeted Ruel, they gave her the highest servant role in the castle and they requested numerous designs within months. And the parties continue in the kingdom for the people of the kingdom and for allies of the king and queen. It happened after sometime, maybe even years in wealth and fame that the king and queen requested that the baron and baroness give them a child, male or female. The baron and baroness cried in desperation because they thought that they did not own anything to the king and queen. It happened that they could not delay any longer as the King and Queen demanded. So they gave up Ruel, the King and Queen were furious until they noticed that she looked like the baron and baroness. For hours the Royal experts questioned the couple about Ruel. The King and Queen's son, the Prince questioned Ruel as she was wearing one of her dresses. Everyone was shocked about what he said to her, I love that dress, your curves are insinuating and your eyes are rare. You are a lovely woman. Would you be my queen?

Ruel cried, I do not know. I am a little older than you. And I don't know the royal way of life. But to save my friends who could have been my family. Spare Baron Norm and Baroness Rena give them back their place. And I will be your servant, your wife.

The Prince looked to his parents, the King and Queen. They ordered the release of the Baron and Baroness telling them to arrange for a wedding of Ruel and the Prince. Ruel replaced the Queen and the Prince replaced his father.
