The Rose That Waits (Part 3)

Rose or Rose?

By Maryam BatoolPublished about a year ago 2 min read

Rose set off on the journey to find a cure for Asher. Now that she knew Asher loved her, there was no doubt. She felt stronger, more determined, and braver. There was no way she was going to let him leave her.

No way!

I'm Rose, his Rose. I won’t allow some ailment to take him away from me.

Rose steadied herself, wiped her tears, and gave the reins a purposeful pull.

I didn’t let the King, my father, make me someone else’s.

I’m coming for you, Asher.

Some promises are fulfilled, no matter the cost. Rose was someone who could do anything to save Asher. She was meant to be his.

She wiped her tears and urged the horse to go faster, holding tight as they raced forward.

****************************************************************

It was night when she had set off on her royal horse. Now, it was almost dawn. She arrived at a forest, a familiar one. Once, she had come here with her father, the King.

Exhausted, she decided to rest for a while. She tied her horse, Mona, to the bark of a sturdy tree. Then, she rested her head against a large, smooth stone. She hadn’t eaten anything since last night, but hunger wasn’t her concern. The only thing that mattered to her was:

"Asher"

God, help me. He did so much for me. He faced hard times. Now, it’s my turn to pay him back and do something for him. But I don’t know how. How will I manage this without Your help?

Tears slipped down her cheeks as she drifted into a heavy, tear-stained sleep.

In her dreams, she heard Asher’s voice:

"Rose… my dearest Rose, dry your tears, my love. You are my everything, now and always. Knowing your heart beats for me fills my soul with completeness. Please, my beloved, don’t weep. For as long as I draw breath, I am yours and yours alone."

Rose woke up to the sun blazing in the sky. It was unbearably hot. She gulped down a mouthful of water and prepared to continue her journey.

But just as she was about to mount her horse, something hit her head.

A bird.

She looked up, squinting against the sharp sunlight piercing her eyes, but couldn’t make out the bird. She rubbed her eyes and noticed something lying on the ground.

A letter.

She dismounted and picked it up. The letter was strange—half-burned, old, and weathered.

But wait...

It had a rose rolled into it.

She unrolled the letter and began reading softly:

"The Cure Lies in Rose" was written in bold letters.

What? Rose? It or Me?

She continued reading:

"The one he’s been seeking all along.

Only through her will his path to healing be revealed."

Who wrote this?

Who was the Mystic Admirer?

What’s going on?

Rose’s mind swirled with a thousand questions as she read the letter. Clutching the delicate rose in her hand, she gazed at it, her heart pounding with both hope and confusion.d at it, trying to unravel the meaning behind its silent message.

Looking forward to part IV. You certainly know how to weave a plot. Can I ask what software for you sue to create your images? They always so fitting for your stories. Have you ever heard of Abbie Emmons? She has a whole of stuff on the internet about writing and I think your writing styles have as lot in common.
