Sleep and its qualities play a crucial role in a person's physical and mental health. Something which we pay very little attention is that the ability to have a good night’s sleep also boosts immunity, improves brain function, and helps manage stress levels. As a result, sleep is an important physical process and a cornerstone of people’s health since it helps the body restore muscles and tissues, regulate hormones, and fix memories.

Lack of sleep, on the contrary, is dangerous To summarize thus; As the sleep cycles are disrupted by shift work, the body and mind suffer as much as shift work disrupts the sleep cycles. Lack of sleep for a long time makes one develop illnesses such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. It also dulls the mind weakens the memory and increases excitability, which leads to anxiety and depression. Thirdly, lack of sleep weakens the body’s immune response to stress making worsens some health problems over time.

A prime rather obvious factor is the importance of sleep hygiene in improving rest. The first step in attaining better sleep is to keep a fixed sleep-wake schedule which is getting in bed and waking up at the same time each day. Develop a pre-sleep custom, such as reading or meditating, which will visually indicate to your body that it’s time to sleep. It also helps you get better sleep when you make a conscious effort to avoid watching TV, being on your phone, or under any form of artificial light before going to bed. Avoiding caffeine and large meals close to night’s sleep is highly discouraged, keeping the room cool, dark, and quiet is most suitable for sleep.

Sleeping is a natural and effective way of enhancing health since it is considered a top-notch organ. Ensuring we sleep well, we are able to arise from bed feeling healthy and strong to take on the day’s tasks.
