* Asher*
"Where am I?" I ask as I stumble through a strange forest riddled with snow and icicles. I look around to ask someone for help but there isn't a single living thing as far as the eye can see. "Asssshhheeerrr.....Asher, come here Asher...." I hear a familiar voice call out to me in the wind.
I follow the direction of the voice cautiously. "Asher, how could you leave us?" The voice asks, giving me a slight chill. "What do you mean?! I didn't leave anyone! And who is us?" I call out with no reply. CRACK! I jump and look around but nobody is here.
"HELP!!" The voice screams, causing me to rush in its direction. "NOOO!!" Another screams comes and suddenly I recognize the voice to belong to my mate, Kir Bastet. This causes me to panic as I run as fast as possible to help my distressed mate.
"Asher, how could you do this?! He's my brother!" Kir screams out as I skid to a halt at the edge of a pond. I look around but I can't see her anywhere. "Kir! Kir! Where are you?! What's going on?!" I scream out with frustration. "She can't hear you Asher and you can't help her, I've tried." A voice says from behind me.
I turn around and come face-to-face with my wolf, Argon. "What's going on Argon? Am I dreaming?" I question the red and grey wolf. "You killed my brother!" Kir screams from below us. The noise causes me to look at the ice below my feet. That's when I see it, Kir fighting a wolf, but not just any wolf....my wolf...
"What the hell is going on!?" I yell at the ice. "The scenes unfolding on the surface of the ice is what's happening right now in the real world Asher.." Argon tells me. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?!" I yell back. "Asher! Shut up and listen carefully! There is nothing we can do about it. The frozen pond is working like a mirror between worlds right now." He pauses for a moment to make sure I'm listening.
"Luca's father took away any control we might have. That wolf you see out there, he is not us, but he is a version of us. That wolf has no humanity, no soul, no bond, and no fear. That wolf will kill anyone that his master tells him to, that includes Kir." He pauses as he takes a shaky breath.
"There is nothing that we can do about it Asher. We have no choice but to watch these horrific events through this pond of mirrors." Argon finishes before looking down at the frozen water. "ASHER NO!" I hear Luca scream, causing me to look back at the pond. Oh goddess no... "Argon there has to be a way." I say desperately as I watch this other version of me shaking Kir violently.
I don't wait for him to respond before I get down on my knees and begin punching the ice as hard as possible. "Asher... I know that it hurts but there's nothing we can do about it. Please stop, you're bleeding...Oh my goddess Asher you're bleeding!!" Argon starts shaking me suddenly.
" Asher stop! You're killing her!" Luca screams from the ice. "Don't stop Asher, punch harder! Keep going, it's actually working!" Argon yells out as he begins digging alongside me. The ice begins to crack and glow as Argon and I continue to beat the ice with all of our strength.
"Hurry!!" I yell out as I see Kir's blood splashing the ground on the other side of the mirror. CCCCRRRRAAAAACCCCCKKKKKK!! Suddenly the ice breaks and a bright light blinds me. I blink a few times before realizing that we were successful. "KIR!" I scream as I rush over to my mate's bloodied limp body on the ground.
"STAY AWAY FROM HER!" Luca yells as he blocks my path to Kir. "Get the hell out of my way you idiot! We don't have time for this, she's going to die!" I yell at the idiotic male as I push him out of my way. I quickly shift back to a human and cut my wrist open before pressing it up to Kir's mouth, hoping that I made it in time.
After a few seconds of Kir being unresponsive to my blood I begin to panic. "Luca, I need you to cut me." I demand the man next to me. "What, why? You're already bleeding!" The man looks extremely confused. I might feel bad if we had time for confusion.
"Cut my neck if you want Kir to live!" I yell impatiently. Suddenly Luca seems to have caught on to my plan as he bites my neck with elongated fangs and rips a chunk off, not enough to kill me, but just enough to hurt like hell and hopefully do the trick. I reposition myself and Kir so that her face is in my neck.
I hold Kir's face up to my neck for what felt like years, but was probably only a few seconds. My efforts are rewarded when I feel Kir's fangs sink into my neck and I let out a breath. "Thanks goddess..." I whisper before blacking out from the blood loss.
