She stood there amongst the rubble, reminiscing on all that she had lost. Yet somewhere deep in her soul, she knew she was finally free. All she could see were the ashes she left behind. She was the phoenix, and she had finally embraced her truth. She rose from the devastation all around her with such confidence and ease while wearing her war paint as a reminder to herself. She wore her scars as a badge of honor because she knew despite all the darkness, the light that she had found during her battles was the same light that helped her escape. It was the same fire that this cruel world tried so hard to extinguish. Not many can fall like that and still find the courage to rise victoriously, and with such grace, nonetheless. And here she was. She was a mother, a lover, a pure soul with love to share, but she was also a warrior. She was a protector of light. She thought back to her family, her children... and she smiled because she knew that she had to be born into darkness in order to fully shine. She was sent here to break generational curses and that is exactly what she did. She was not perfect in any way, but she was beautiful, and she was more than enough. There is something about the phoenix that cannot fully be explained, but it sure is powerful to witness.

As she stood there, smoke rising and an eerie darkness all around her, she clutched her heart shaped locket and it finally hit her. She remembered who she was and why she was sent to this world full of heartbreak. She realized she had always had that power within herself, it was who she was, her heart, her soul... SHE was the light. And boy did she shine so bright! It is a beautiful sight to see, mainly because she finally realized her strength, and her ability to rise despite that darkness that tried to eat her alive. This time was different than the other times that she had risen, more profound. She could have easily focused on all that darkness, all the smoke and all the heartache that she saw all around her. She could have surrendered to those fires, but she fought those battles herself, when others just watched. She fought them with a sense of bravery that intimidated most people. She had spent so long hiding in the shadows, not by her own choice but because others wanted to make it impossible for her to find her purpose. She did not know who she was back then, but her light and her heart were what led her to this moment.

She stood there, basking in her own light amongst the darkness, knowing she will conquer every battle ahead of her. Once the phoenix rises, nothing nor no-one, can defeat her. It is a magical thing, fighting those demons and being able to stand confidently amid chaos. She proudly held her head high and with good reason! She discovered herself, and everything that she had to offer to this world. She fell in love with herself and made no apologies for it. It took her a long time to find that sense of peace, but she never gave up the fight. She made a vow to herself that day, a vow to never give up on her mission. She stood there with blood-stained tears, looking out into the unknown and ready to take on the demons of this world. She knew in her heart that she had won. She emitted this incredible light that became so bright, so powerful, that some could not stand it, and for once she understood that was okay. Not everyone is meant to be in the presence of a phoenix. Only someone who has lived in the darkness can find beauty in the shadows and still rise like a warrior. It was within her this entire time, and now she finally understood her truth.
