The pain of regret

She was a doctor. A doctor, who made unforgivable mistakes and had to suffer the inevitable consequences: watching the people she injected slowly die, including her loved ones and knowing that she was the one their lives depended on, and that she will once be the next. It was only a matter of time...
When she realized what she had done, it was already too late... her actions could not be undone anymore.
After all it wasn't completely her fault... She didn't have a choice. If she didn't obey the instructions of the authorities and do as she was told, she would've lost her job, ending up on the streets unemployed. As a single parent it would've been impossible there for her and her kids to survive. But what would've been worse? Living in the shadows of dark and dirty alleys, spending the whole day begging people for money or having her kids watch her die, because of one stupid decision caused by the panic-like propaganda of the pandemic. On the streets at least they would've been together...
She knew that her days were numbered. Every single one could've been her last.
She would've done anything just to get back what she was deprived from.
And in fact not only her, but everyone working in health care and other social communities. Because these people were forced to take the death cure, with no complaint.
On a desperate night she went to sleep with painful tears in her eyes. She prayed and asked the Lord for time, the most precious thing she could've got.
On that day her prayers were listened to.
When she woke up, she found herself in their old house.
"That's impossible" - she thought - " We sold this house like four years ago..."
She unplugged her phone and checked the time.
"9:13 a.m" it said.
Nothing weird...
However when she looked at the date, she couldn't believe her eyes.
"3rd March 2020?!" She didn't need much time to do the math: "That's exactly half a month before the pandemic!"
And the craziest part was that she remembered everything.
"Did I just dream the future?"
Whatever happened she took it as a warning sign and decided not to let her life get messed up like that again.
As she was an experienced doctor, who already knew the approaching worldwide epidemic, she took this advantage and started to talk about it first only to her family, and then with the help of social media she managed to reach out to others too.
She told people that there's no reason to panic, and prepared them to what was going to happen in order to minimize their fears. She asked the government to pay attention and invest in the hospitals for a better health care and more developed equipment. She informed people that vaccines wouldn't be that useful, as the virus would mutate after time. Instead she asked them to stay at home and not overthink the situation.
She also asked the rich to raise money for charity so that the homeless wouldn't be neglected either. And people watched her... and listened to her... and admired her. Because all that she said did come true. She was known as the "fortune teller".
Soon she ran one of the biggest YouTube channels in the country. She became influential.
She donated a lot to different shelters, and encouraged the government to do so too.
She also talked about the war, that was following the pandemic, and that people need to find a way to maintain an proper government in order to make this conflict stop.
She did everything she could to make this world a better place. In fact it could only get better than this...

Warning! This story is a bit exaggerated. Many people think that we were manipulated and lied to by the numbers of Covid-19 while others state that the virus was a serious threat for humanity. I'm not participating in this debate. This story represents the perspective of a woman, who claims that vaccines were unnecessary and harmful for the human body in a long term. Since four years ahead we cannot talk about long term effects, we cannot declare if she's right or wrong.
Thank you for reading! If you're still here, would you mind leaving your feedback? It always helps a lot, and I really appreciate your support! :)

Excellent tale… freedom of choice is a good thing & one which was certainly severely limited in many ways during COVID.
Vaccines can do harm if untried, I wonder if all of that was a tale told by dark forces in govt, hopefully we will find out. Some truth to the story.
Very well done, Anna :) I especially liked how you opened the piece, it just oozed regret and pain. You brought those emotions across so very naturally! Having the time travel be an answered prayer is fascinating! I've never seen it done like that before!
This has some truth to it, vaccines can be harmful and Covid vaccines were untried for harm. Congrats.
I like" Did I just dream the future?.... Thanks
How true!
The world can only be better if the majority of billionaires want it to be better. In fact, it is not, because right now they want us to kill each other.
Great story and entry to Alex's challenge!! Loved the take from a medical professionals view! Good luck with challenge 🤞 A couple of grammatical errors I've picked up on, I hope you don't mind me pointing out! At the end of the 6th paragraph "with no complain." is it meant to be "with no complaint."? And at the beginning of the 7th paragraph, you have written "he", and I think it should be "she". Hope I've helped!
I like the story, just didn't expect the way it turned out. Would find it easier to believe if she was persecuted, called a crazy anti-vaxxer and was able to change absolutely nothing. But this is probably my cynicism speaking, lol
You are going to stir the pot with this one, but that’s what it’s about. It’s nice to see a bold writer on her. Congrats on TS.

Congratulations on the Top Story recognition. Despite being labeled fiction, your piece introspective and reflective of much. It was also well written and I enjoyed it immensely.
I had Covid January 2021. Age 71. My roommate had covid too. Her fiance died from complications of covid. I worked in the medical profession at age 19 and graduated from nursing school. So even though I studied journalism etc I kept up with my medical background. Vaccines are a necessity in the medical field to prevent extremely deadly diseases. I had covid a second time but thanks to my vaccines and PAX I survived. I have Covid now. Thanks to PAX once again. However I have been very sick. One of my cousins had polio. So when the polio vaccine was discovered we as humans were happy to get one. I remember when people died of measles, chicken pox, small pox. Because of science and the medical profession we have vaccines. Vaccines are not harmful but the diseases they fight cause death. People don't remember the past like that. I liked your story. I do not cower to anti vaxxers or MAGA. I am old enough to remember death diseases and WW2. Vaccine and science are extremely important. The folks not wanting medicine or science have extremely diverted spoiled personalities brainwashed by the powers that be who would laugh at the death of people because they all had all vaccines I can assure you. Keep up the good work. Thought provoking articles are so much fun
