Sci-fi Fantasy Story

Five Eagles

Flying through the skies without much notice, the Iron Eagles hold a secret that evades the knowledge of most. In order to flee terrible situations in their lives, these Iron birds harbor the consciousness of a group that sacrificed themselves to avoid hardships in their life.

Take the emerald eagle for instance. Once a loving housewife, Summa Obotia had to escape the daily tirade of her abusive husband. After many years of fighting with her situation, she secretly contacted 7 Star Labs for an experimental procedure. Her mind would be placed into a mechanical animal, a cyborg if you will, and be able to roam freely and discreetly.

Thus, the five eagles are soaring the skies in the late 21st century. They travel the world, immune to the problems that face humanity and experiencing life through a different lens.

Just yesterday, the group of eagles flew near a small village near Zambia and Malawi. The beautiful mountain ranges made the orange eagle, Julius Steinfield, feel a sense of calm after living through a flood that completely destroyed his home. Being a lawyer for most of his adult life, Julius felt a sense of dread when his entire life was washed away thanks to the weather in his small hometown. Turning to 7 Star Labs, he submitted himself to the mind conversion program to escape his grief.

Through the allure of living a second, mechanical life has given the five individuals a new outlook on life, there are challenges abound.

Two years ago, a group of hackers both uncovered 7 Star Labs experiments and blackmailed the CEO before he finally retaliated.

“We can’t negotiate with these cyber-terrorists. They are making our world a horrible place of coercion and manipulation.

The CEO and top scientist, named James Hikler, decided to come up with a plan. First, he had to find out what the hackers were after. The Iron Eagles were holding many secrets on how to transfer the human mind into a robotic form. It was a type of immortality that many people have longed for over thousands of years.

One morning, James drew a large selection of scientists in his inner circle together. Their first goal was to contact the Iron Eagles, still flying high in the sky. He needed their help to execute his plan of stopping the hackers.

Using gamma rays, scientists were able to manipulate a strong signal that would reach the Iron Eagles, wherever they were at that moment. After a few test runs, the main signal was finally sent out.

“For the Iron Eagles created by 7 Star Labs, please fly to this location. These are longitude and latitude coordinates. Using your internalized system, you should be able to locate this spot. The reason I am contacting you is by reason of an impending attack on all five of you. A group of hackers are determined to capture and disassemble you. They view your existence as a means to reaching a type of immortality. For the value of your existence and your well-being, please travel to these coordinates in 24 hours.”

Once the signal was sent, James had to wait. The coordinates were pointed toward a location in Thailand. James flew to the location, in the rural regions, in hopes that the Iron Eagles would arrive. After only 16 hours of waiting, the mechanical aviators arrived at the destination.

Sitting on top of a rooftop, James stood as each of the Five Eagles perched themselves. Letting out a deep breath, James courteously folded his hands.

“Thank you for coming but your lives are in danger. Now we must now work tirelessly to save your lives.”
