The Open Door Policy
Always close the door before leaving!
The kitten squeaked out a yawn as she sat on her little bed, observing the room.
Her gaze, as usual, fell upon the open door.
Her owner was constantly scolding her about how she should never leave the house, and how she already had everything she needed there. Still… She always wondered what was out there.
What if it was something amazing that the owner didn’t want her to see?
She’d sometimes seen other cats walking outside through the window. Think of the smells!
After a moment of thought, she rose… then began striding towards the door.

The Sound Of Darkness
An old dragon sighed in the darkness. Huge, thick, rusted chains hung loosely around his great neck, restraining him from doing all but lay there, alone. His tattered wings were sore from having been bound for so long, causing blisters to spread all along the edges and bottom of his wings. His long tail draped across the hard, rocky stone floor, restricted by long ropes of chains harshly thrown around it. He could not sleep soundly at night, as he was constantly haunted by a past mistake- one small, unforgivable action… but often, that was what did the most damage.

I'm very proud of this story because it gives me an opportunity to demonstrate the love I have for cats while at the same time letting others know anyone can write a story- it doesn't have to be good.
