A story based on two brothers getting their way to the royal chair but with tension

The Majesty

In a small, rich city called Baybal, there lived a very old woman. It was announced to the people of the city that the woman had to announce the new king who was going to take over. This came as a surprise to the bitter and wicked Kai, the first son of the woman, Sally.

Sally grew up in a kingdom and in the family of Wang as a princess. She was known for her bravery, integrity, and humility. She hoped these qualities would be passed on to her children, which only happened with her younger son, Zhong. He was also known to be brave, which always made Kai jealous, as he liked to be worshipped. But all he was known for was his anger, lies, and controlling behavior.

When the time came for the queen (their mother) to announce the new king, it was expected that the older son would rule, based on tradition and experience. This brought disgrace and gossip in the city of Bal. People were extremely shocked to hear that the new king was going to be Zhong, who was still young. This announcement caused delays in decision-making within the kingdom.

The day came when tears were falling from people’s eyes. On a bad, rainy day, no one expected the queen to die peacefully in her sleep. Violins were playing, and royal dancers were performing. "I am certainly sure my brother is the one who cried the most," said Zhong.

The day after the funeral, Kai sat down with Zhong to discuss the family’s wealth since both the queen and the king had died. It had not yet been finalized who would take the role of king, but the royal council knew the requirements to become one. One of them was being married, which did not favor Zhong but favored Kai, who was married.

Zhong was not chasing wealth. He desired peace, loyalty, and equality, while Kai was prideful, wanted more wealth and status, and loved being in the royal family.

In a blink of an eye, the ambassador arrived at the palace to find both Kai and Zhong discussing who would take over. Kai desperately wanted to become king and tried to persuade everyone with lies. The ambassador mentioned the event that had taken place while the queen was still alive, when she had declared her wish for Zhong to be king. Although no one had agreed with her at the time, it was her desire.

The ambassador then made his final decision to grant Sally’s wish.

Without hesitation, Kai, filled with anger, brought up one of the kingdom’s laws: that a king must be married so that his wife could become queen, symbolizing the king’s strength in the city. This caused disappointment for both the ambassador and Zhong. Since Kai was already married to Mulan, it was finalized that Kai would become the new king.

Days passed, and the wicked Kai, overjoyed, sat on the throne. Soon he started making changes in the palace and city—firing people, taking their homes, or demolishing them. This led to poverty and grief among the citizens, but Kai enjoyed it. Zhong tried his best to advise Kai to stop these selfish actions.

Then a thought came to Zhong: if he got married, he could meet the royal requirements and potentially take over instead of the cruel Kai, who only wanted to be worshipped. He secretly went on several dates, but couldn’t find the right person—until he met Chai, a kind-hearted but poor girl. They spent time together, shared thoughts, and even shared their pains. Their bond grew, and they began to date.

Eventually, Kai found out about Zhong dating—and possibly planning to marry. Blood was about to be shed. There was tension and the threat of war when Kai decided to kill the girl to stop the marriage at all costs.

But he couldn’t.

The wedding day arrived months later, and Kai rushed there only to find out, to his surprise, that they were already married. The city and Kai’s servants turned their backs on him since they were being punished unfairly.

Kai had no choice but to surrender the crown.

After five years, the city was filled with peace and humility under the great King and Queen—Zhong and Chai—who were soon expecting baby twins.
