The Magic of a New Year’s Kiss

Modern Year’s Eve. An occasion that comes each year. It appeared like everybody was having a party. I thought almost not going to anyone’s party. But at that point my sister told me she required me at her party.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because when the ball drops at midnight everybody kisses."

"So why do you require me?"

"Because. We have 5 couples, and one single person."

"So?"

"So, all the couples will kiss at midnight. But the one individual who will be alone."

"Oh I get it. You need me to come fair to kiss a few stranger at midnight."

"Exactly. If you don't mind." I figured she was going to bend my arm. So at long last, I moaned. "Fine. I’ll be there."

So here I am. Standing at my sister’s entryway, almost to ring the doorbell. I have no thought what’s going to happen today. Some time recently I may ring the chime, my sister flung open the entryway. "Robin! So happy you made it."

"I guaranteed I would come."

"I know, but I thought you might chicken out." Before long she was presenting everybody around. Everybody appeared to be in a couple. "So where’s this stranger I am gathered to meet?"

"Over here," my sister said. "Robin meet Jackie. Jackie, Robin."

"Nice to meet you," we said. I looked Jackie up and down. I enjoyed what I was seeing. But I wasn’t looking for a relationship. But a kiss at midnight, sure.

So the party started. We played a few rounds of charades. Jackie was great at the amusement. At that point we played "Never have I ever".

"Robin, you begin," my sister said. "Affirm, never have I ever gotten arrested."

Jackie drank. "Curiously," I said.

"Minor offense. Unpaid stopping tickets."

Then it was Jackie’s turn. "Never have I ever, kissed a young lady." Jackie looked at me.

"Sorry," I said. "In the event that you had said, never have I ever kissed a fellow at that point I’d have to drink."

"Interesting," Jackie said.

The diversion proceeded. But Jackie and I overlooked most of the others in the room. We had our claim amusement presently. Attempt to get the other one to drink. My turn. "Never have I ever kissed a fellow." Most of the folks in the room took a drink. But one fellow. "Indiscriminate," he said. "I’ve kissed a parcel of individuals." Jackie took a long drink, at that point looked at me. "Never have I ever gotten a tattoo." I drank.

"You have a tattoo?" my sister said. "How come I’ve never seen it?"

"Because it’s not in a put you would ever see." Jackie’s eyes went up, consideration crested. I seem see Jackie’s eyes checking my body, attempting to discover my tattoo.

It came around to me once more inevitably. I was a small buzzed, nearly all the things individuals had said, I’d had to drink.

"Never have I ever done illicit drugs." I looked at Jackie, no drink.

"Good," I said, "I don’t like individuals who do drugs."

Jackie’s turn. "Never have I ever had sex in a open place."

"Dang you got me," I said taking a drink.

The amusement proceeded. Both Jackie and I were a small intoxicated presently. "It’s nearly midnight!" My sister cried. Jackie and I got up. Presently Jackie’s arm was around me. "Well, this has been an illuminating evening."

"It has," I replied.

"So at midnight."

"We kiss."

"And then."

"I figure that’s up to you." I listened the tv turn on, and my sister said, "Affirm everybody prepared!" We numbered down. "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Upbeat Modern Year." Presently Jackie’s lips were on mine, and at that point all of a sudden her tongue was in my mouth. Her kiss was not at all like any other kiss I’ve had from any lady. It made me disregard why I hadn’t celebrate Modern Year’s in a long time. Not since I’d proposed to my sweetheart five a long time prior and she turned me down in front of a parcel of people.

Jackie pulled absent from me. "Well I figure if we play "Never have I ever" ever once more, I’ll have to drink."

"So are you bi?" I inquired her.

"Nope. Totally straight. But when your sister said Robin was coming, I figured you were a guy."

"I get that a part," I said. "I expected she needed me to have a Unused Year’s kiss with a fellow. She still considers she can persuade me to be straight. If she’d told me your title some time recently I came, I likely would’ve figured you were a fellow too."

"If I were a lesbian, I would completely date you."

"Thanks. You truly made a difference make Modern Year’s fun for me again."

"What do you say if not one or the other of us are seeing anybody, we do this once more following year?"

"Sure," I said.

Soon after everybody started clearing out. Jackie kissed me on the cheek. The another few days, I thought around Jackie a parcel. I dated a few ladies amid the year, but none were like Jackie. So I enthusiastically looked forward to the another Modern Year’s.

This time my sister didn’t require to coerce me into coming. I went energetically. I strolled into the room. "Where’s Jackie?" I inquired. "I thought she might be here."

"Haven’t you talked to her at all?"

"We didn’t trade numbers. She’s not a lesbian. We fair said we might see each other here once more this year, if we were single."

"No ponder you were enthusiastic to come. Well she met a fellow and moved to Britain a few months prior. But this year, we welcomed a part of single individuals, so possibly you’ll share a kiss with somebody special."

"Maybe," I answered. My sister liquefied back into the party. I blended, but I knew that I wouldn’t need to kiss anybody else that night. I was until the end of time thankful to Jackie for supplanting my awful Unused Year’s memory with one astonishing one.
