The Lotus

Untold Tales of the Buddha

By C. Rommial ButlerPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

The mountain air was cold and thin. He was alone on the peak. Neither had a disciple nor any of his enemies, who he also considered disciples of a sort, made it half this far. He could survey all the land beneath, and with eyes sharper than nature intended, survey them like little ants.

He sent them love. All of them.

Sitting in a lotus position, he closed his eyes, smiling.

But then his smile faltered.

He shifted a bit, showing discomfort.

He lifted one curled leg.

He farted.

Resting, his smile widened.

How did I miss the farting Buddha? You know, even though this was funny, I found it remarkably comforting too. Who knew a fart had such power?
