"You are a very ungrateful child, after everything that we have done to see you become the woman that you are today and you say this to us? Asked Brenda's mom"

What is there to be grateful for retorted Brenda, yes you and dad saw me through school which is the only thing you did for me.

what other thing were you expecting us to do at least we ensured you had everything provided for you whilst growing up, you lacked nothing so where is all this coming from? her mum asked

I had everything money could buy mum, what about the ones money could not buy? sobbing did you and dad ever stop to think and consider that your children needed love and attention of the people who birthed them? you passed us from one nanny to another but you were not careful enough to find out what was going on in our lives, even when i tried talking to you severally as the eldest about how we were treated, touched inappropriately by relatives, strangers, teachers alike you never listened mum, you never listened

you abandoned us but suddenly want us around, don't you have a job to go to anymore? are you no longer busy? why the sudden interest in us?

I searched for you everywhere mum but you kept travelling and travelling, you never were around for our birthday's, Parents meetings at school graduations, mum we got used to you been absent in our lives

you were not interested in our progress, when I has my first menstruation as a young growing child you were on a business trip at Calabar and suddenly you want me to come for thanksgiving,

Do you know how your absence in our lives impacted and affected us? Did you ever care? Did you stop for a moment to think about us? No mum we are not a family so there is nothing to be grateful for

Why did you bring us into this world only to abandon us mum, you never noticed when things were not well with us, we knew other people as our parents, we were raised by strangers so please tell me why are you all of a sudden interested in our lives, where do you want us to start bonding from mum? I think its a bit too late now that time has surely passed.

You and dad can celebrate without me as I am not coming, you can talk to my siblings maybe they will but count me out

please my daughter I know that i and your dad have wronged you all and so we planned this thanksgiving to try and make amends, at the time we had you all we were young and wanted to provide the best things that money could buy for you as our children

Even though we are now suffering the consequence of our neglect as you my children all do not want to speak with me nor their dad, we might not have been there as parents but look at it this way, you all lead good lives because of our connection and influences

you all attended the very best of schools, got the very best of what money could buy you and your siblings, yes we were not there to care for you and be in your lives like you would have wanted us, and i know we created a vacuum of longing in your hearts but allow us fill it up again

Give us that second chance of been your real parents again, please my daughter talk to your siblings so you all can come around and we start all over again

Okay mum ill think about it, meanwhile how is dad doing? My regards to him. She said as she hung up
