The Long Night

Only in the darkness can you see the stars

By Subhan WildePublished 3 years ago 3 min read

It started out as a normal day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and people were going about their daily routines. But then, something strange happened. The sun began to dim, and the sky turned dark. At first, people thought it was just a solar eclipse, but as the hours went by, it became clear that something else was happening.

The sky never brightened again. The sun had disappeared completely, leaving the world in eternal darkness. It was as if someone had flipped a switch, plunging the world into a long night.

At first, people were panicked. They didn't know what to do or how to survive without the sun. Some tried to find ways to make artificial light, while others hoarded food and supplies. But as the days turned into weeks and then months, it became clear that they couldn't keep living like this.

The world was thrown into chaos. The darkness made it impossible to grow crops or raise livestock, and soon, food shortages became a major problem. People began to riot and loot, fighting over the last scraps of food.

In the midst of all this, a small group of survivors banded together. They were determined to find a way to survive in this new world, no matter what it took. They scavenged for food and water, and found ways to make fire without the sun.

As time went on, the group grew stronger. They built a community in the darkness, with their own rules and customs. They learned to hunt using sound and smell, and they adapted to the cold, harsh world that had become their home.

But there was always a sense of sadness, a feeling that something was missing. They had never known anything else but the darkness, but they couldn't help but wonder what life had been like before.

One day, a member of the group named John had an idea who was a fresh graduate and he remembered reading about a group of scientists who had developed a way to create artificial sunlight using special technology. It was a long shot, but John believed that they could find a way to recreate the sun and bring light back to the world.

The group was skeptical, but desperate. They pooled their resources and set out on a dangerous journey to find the technology they needed. They faced many challenges along the way, including dangerous animals, harsh weather, and rival groups who wanted what they had.

But they persevered, and after many long months, they finally found the technology they needed. They worked tirelessly, using their knowledge and skills to build a machine that could create sunlight.

And then, finally, they did it. They activated the machine, and a blinding light filled the darkness. The world was bathed in sunlight once again, and people wept with joy and relief.

But as they looked around, they realized that the world they had known was gone. The darkness had changed everything, and the long night had left scars that would never fully heal.

The group stayed together, determined to build a new world in the light. They knew it wouldn't be easy, but they had survived the darkness, and they were stronger for it but one thing used to haunt them, for how long will this artificial light last.

The Long Night had taught them many things, but most of all, it had taught them the importance of hope and perseverance in the face of impossible odds. They had faced the darkness and emerged victorious, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
