A lonely snowman stood atop a lonely hill. He stood at about four feet tall, with a big round belly and broken twigs twisted into his torso as arms.
Snow began to fall again. A flurry of snowflakes whipped around the lonely snowman, and he shuddered. It was too cold outside, and he had nothing to stay warm.
So the lonely snowman started to wander around. He looked for shelter, for a blanket, anything to keep him from freezing again.
The snowfall took a harsh turn, and soon the lonely snowman couldn't see for it! He was scared, cold, and alone, so he stood still, and began to cry.
The tears made him colder. Icicles ran down his crystal face and stuck fast to his frozen skin. He cried harder, wailing so loudly that his voice shook all the freshly fallen snow from a tree behind him.
A shower of thick snow fell, and violently crashed into the lonely snowman.
***
A small child had wrapped herself up, warm and cozy in her hat, scarf and matching fluorescent pink gloves. She couldn't find her snowman, but saw his track and decided to follow him.
When she came upon him, crying and shaking with cold, she offered him her winter wear, to keep him warm.
The next morning, after a night of searching and shouting, the girl's father came upon her frozen body, curled up beside a snowman, layered thick with a coat, hat, scarf and matching pink gloves.

Some lovely descriptions in here, and this has familiar notes with a child and her snowman, but a heartbreaking ending:/ "broken twigs twisted into his torso as arms." is such a good line. Good luck in the challenge!
Oh wow, here I thought she was gonna give him a hug and he would melt. This was so dark and I loved it!
