The Last Cup

Space Caffeine

By Dakota RicePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Alice floated into the galley to see Tim sipping the last cup of coffee on the shuttle. NASA had only sent them two months worth, not nearly enough for the six month journey to Mars.

They'd been rationing the coffee throughout the trip. By the time they had a week's supply left, they’d agreed to save it only for special occasions.

Those occasions had come and gone. When they had but one cup left, they'd decided to split it. But here was Tim, drinking their last cup.

"I didn't sleep well last night."

Alice threw him out the airlock.
