Episode 8: “Bloodlines”
Rain fell over Arundel as if the city itself wept.
At home, Lara and Lana returned with Iris, whose head still spun with visions. She was set down on the attic floor — the one space that had never been touched since their mother died.
Digging through whatever their mom might have left behind, Lana found something out of place: a loose panel under the floorboards, covered in chalk marks. Symbols. Some the same as on the hospital records.
Inside, they found a velvet-wrapped box.
It had two items.
1.A leather-bound journal, wrapped in black ribbon.
2.A snake biting its own tail, a golden key.
Lara opened the diary. The pages were filled with her mother's handwriting, detailed and desperate.
"I became a member of The Order of Nox to guard them — to discover what they were doing. I did not realize then that our lineage was derived from something ancient. Something hidden in the ruins below Arundel. Lana's abilities are growing faster than I expected. She's visioning shadows before they move. Lara… you are the Shield. You'll find out what that means soon enough. If you're reading this, they know. They're coming. And you must NEVER go into the crypt under the church—"
The diary ended in mid-sentence.
Lana faced her sister. "The crypt under the church?"
They both turned around.
Iris stood behind them, her face pale and her eyes large.
"It's already open.".
“Do you think their mother was part of The Order — or trying to destroy it from within?”
