The Hidden Princess👰



A Czar lived in a village. He had three sons. He wanted his sons to marry very beautiful and well behaved girls. But it was not easy to get girls of his choice.

One day the Czar called his sons and asked What kind of girl do you want to marry

Yes, you can marry us to whoever you want. The three sons replied politely.

The Czar was very happy to hear the answer. He made a plan in his mind and said to his sons I am giving each of you three an arrow. Go to the field in front and shoot these arrows in different directions. Whoever's arrow falls wherever, he will have to marry the girl of that house.

All three agreed. All three shot their arrows in different directions. The eldest son's arrow fell in the courtyard of a merchant. When the Czar and his son reached there and saw, the merchant's daughter was standing with an arrow in her hand. The Czar married his eldest son to that girl.

The middle son's arrow fell in a fisherman's house. So, his middle son was married to his daughter.

The arrow of the third son Andrei flew fast in the air and went towards the forest. Father and son set out towards the forest to find the arrow. There, on the bank of a pond, a frog was sitting with an arrow in its mouth. Now the question arose as to whom Andrei should be married to

Andrei took out the arrow from the frog's mouth and started going back with his father. Then the frog spoke in a girl's voice Will you marry me

The Czar was surprised to hear the girl's voice. He decided that Andrei would be married to the frog and soon he was married.

Both the elder brothers were very happy with their wives, while Andrei used to sit sadly in his room with the frog. The frog said Why are you sad It was written in your fate that you would marry me, so it happened.

Andrei would quietly go to sleep with a sad heart every day. Some days passed like this. One day the Czar said to his sons I want to test all three daughtersinlaw. All three daughtersinlaw have to sew a shirt for me. The condition is that it should be ready by tomorrow.

Both the sons started making fun of the younger brother. Then all three sons went to their rooms with their wives. Both the elder sons started helping their wives. But Andrei went to the room and sat in a corner. Seeing him sad, the frog said

Why are you sad You go to sleep.

Andrei turned his face to the other side and went to sleep. At night the frog took off its frog skin and stood up as a beautiful princess in the form of Tanya. During the night she called her maids and prepared a beautiful shirt. Then she went to sleep as a frog.

In the morning when Andrei woke up, he was very happy to see the shirt on the side of the bed. The shirt had beautiful embroidery and the silk shirt looked very beautiful. When he folded the shirt and reached his father, he saw that both the brothers had already reached there.

The Czar looked at the three shirts and said, The shirt brought by the eldest son seems fit for a servant, the second son's shirt is also fit to be worn at night. Andrei's shirt is really very beautiful. But you tell me who has stitched this shirt.

Andrei told the whole story but the father and the two sons did not believe it. They started thinking that maybe Andrei is lying. He has bought the shirt from the market to hide the absence of his wife or the frog is a witch.

The Czar decided to test the three daughtersinlaw again. He told the three sons that the next day he will eat food cooked by all the three daughtersinlaw. He will eat the food cooked by the first daughterinlaw in the morning, the second in the afternoon and the third in the evening.

On hearing the Czar's words, the two elder sons went to their rooms laughing but the younger Andrei went to his room sadly. Both the wives started preparing food but at the same time they kept spying on how the third wife prepares food.

The frog knew this very well. She put her husband to sleep as before. She kneaded the dough herself and put all the flour on low flame and went to sleep. The elder daughtersinlaw imitated her and put the flour in the same way and went to sleep.

After that she prepared all the food for the next day in the guise of Tanya along with her maids and went to sleep as a frog. When

the Czar ate the breakfast cooked by the elder daughterinlaw, he felt as if his teeth would break today. He left the food in the same way.

The same happened during lunch also. Then when it was evening, the Czar sat down to eat at the table. Andrei saw that many types of dishes were already kept on the table. He served food to his father and started eating himself too. The food was very tasty. Both of them kept licking their fingers. But they did not understand the secret of preparing delicious food. They just kept praising the food.

The next week was the Czar's birthday. The whole city was invited that day so that everyone could be introduced to the three daughtersinlaw. A grand feast was organized.

At the time of the feast, everyone started arriving on time. Both the elder sons reached the feast with their wives.

Andrei was sitting sad. He said to the frog How will I introduce people to you I am not coming in a while.

The frog said You go, I will get ready and come. You will see that you will not be able to recognize me.

Andrei said in surprise Then how will I recognize you

I will come and hold your hand. The frog said.

Andrei reached the banquet hall astonished. In a few minutes the Czar said Friends Today I want to introduce you to the three daughtersinlaw.

Then he called the elder son and daughterinlaw and introduced them to everyone. Andrei was feeling nervous that now it was his turn after the middle one. Just then a horse carriage stopped at the door. That carriage had silver wings. It was studded with pearls. Six horses were pulling it. When a very beautiful angellike Tanya got down from it, everyone's eyes turned towards her.

Just then Tanya came and held Andrei's hand. The whole hall echoed with applause. Now the Czar introduced his middle and youngest son and both the younger daughtersinlaw to the guests.

Andrei was overjoyed. He got a chance and went to his room and burnt the frog's skin there. Then he came to the feast.

After the feast, everyone went to their respective homes happily. When the sons started going to their rooms with their wives, the Czar started looking at Tanya with surprise.

Tanya said Father, I had become a frog due to some curse, today Andrei has freed me from it. He is your talented and promising son. I am very happy to have him as my husband.

Everyone started living together happily.
