Scott Jorden used to drive trains, but he thought that it wasn’t exciting enough of a job. He wanted a job that was thrilling. Before leaving the train business, he trained a dear friend, Ronnie Stein, to replace him. He then became a test pilot, but he was fired after borrowing a prototype plane and taking his girlfriend to visit her mother in New York. He then got an investment job. Since his old boss still needed a test pilot, he recommended another friend, Martin Raymond.

One day, while traveling by train from New York to California, the train jumped the track. It was caused by a test plane crashing into it. Ronnie was driving the train and Martin was flying the plane. Scott, not fully knowing what happened, got off the train, saw the wreckage, and started pulling off all the survivors. The last 2 people he rescued was his 2 friends. Both warned him of a new power source used by both the train and the plane. An odd glowing green ball. With their dying breaths, they begged him to retrieve the balls. He did so and took them home with him.

In the middle of the night, he was visited by a team of little green men. They took him up to their spaceship. Because he had proven himself to be a hero, they gave him a case with 2 items. The first a green monocle. They told him it would give him great powers. The other was a flashlight. It was to be powered by the green balls he took from the crash site.

Once a week, shine the flashlight through the monocle to charge it. Once he put the monocle on, he was transformed into the Green Flashlight. Another Average Ordinary Everyday Superhero.
