The next day the young girl went back to the door. She looked around to make sure no one followed her here. She took the key out of her pocket and unlocked the door. She slowly opened the door. When her eyes adjusted to the low light of the room, she noticed that the room has rudimentary furniture, such as table and chairs, a sofa and chair that matched and an old rocking chair that she sort of remembered. There were a few pictures on the walls and there was also a bookcase that had a few figurines and when she walked up to the bookcase, she thought she also kind of remembered them for they were figurines of various animals.
As she walked around the room she wondered if there were lights, and she searched for a light switch. She went back towards the door, but there was not a light switch there, so she continued to feel around the walls. Through the dim light that there was she did finally see that there was a kerosene lamp on the table. She heard a noise from outside and she went to the door and waited. She felt kind of dumb, but she wondered there is a door are there are windows, and she did find two on either side of the door, but they were so dust covered nobody could see out or in. She waited and nobody came into the room. As in her favorite fairy tale she did try out all the furniture as this is when she saw the other door. She got up and went over to it and entered a short hallway that had two doors, and she continued her search. Of course, she thought these were probably bedrooms or something else. The girl heard someone calling her at that moment and she had to go back to the main house. She will return.
To be continued....
