“…And I’m telling you, it’s not a Christmas movie,” Adario announced.

“It takes place around the holi—” Samantha started.

“Let me stop you right there. Not sufficient enough. Plenty of things occur during the holidays. Doesn’t make them ‘Christmasy,’” Adario pointed out.

“Okay so they mention Christmas and there is a vibe….”

“A ‘vibe’? There’s a bunch of shooting and an evil villain. What does that have to do with Christmas?”

“There are tons of villains at Christmas in stories.”

“Yes, but they often turn ‘good’ at the end of the story by doing some deed or changing their ways.”

“Let’s go in the complete opposite direction, then….It's Friday the 13th. The last Friday the 13th of the year. Let’s watch a bunch of slasher movies to get into the holiday spirit.”

“I’ve married a woman who has completely dropped her movie moral compass. This is the time for classics in black and white and some monumental color films as well that convey the true spirit of Christmas.”

Samantha folded her arms and sulked.

“Look, you can watch those movies all you like, but I’m going to be in the second theater.”

“Okay. Scoot.”

“You’re kicking me out? No, I’m leaving and I’m only making enough popcorn in the machine for the kids and me. We’re actually going to enjoy the themes of benevolence and good will towards men. We’re not going to sully or brains with blood stained walls and a sadistic killer on the loose.”

Samantha unfolded her arms. “Alright, we can watch Christmas themed movies. It’s okay….”

“You give in that easily? That’s definitely not the Sam I married,” Adario mentioned.

The couple was like two warring factions discussing the nature of their mild dilemma.

“The Sam you married just saved you a trip….I’m on popcorn duty!”

That was cute. Scary or Christmassy, the season is about togetherness, so is marriage. I enjoyed reading that.
