Moonlight appears and Sabrina is staring at her copper brown, netted, feathered dream catcher. In her right hand she is holding it, the other she is gliding her fingers softly around the edges.
“How pretty, and neat could a dream catcher be.” she whispered to herself.
A crown of ivory white feathers she placed on her head from her nightstand. Sabrina wore a floor length embroidered white night gown for every sleep.
“A gown so white, the snow would be jealous.” she said as she spun around in it looking at her reflection from the floating mirror.
Sabrina goes to her reflection, and she channels her late grandmother, Francis.
“Grandma Francis, please here my voice and come to me, come forward from the light to life.”
She said on her knees bowing to her floating mirror waiting for her late grandmother's bright shadow.
A crack in the middle of the mirror starts to creak through.
“What is this?” Sabrina said while the mirror cracks more.
A dark shadowy figure, fingers gripped the mirror from the inside.
“Sssabrina.” it slithered her name in a low and raspy voice.
“Who are you? And where is my grandmother?”
“Shes not here.” The dark shadow figure said.
“What did you do to her?”
“I took her spirit, now her and I are as one.” The dark shadow figure said.
“No, how could you do this?” Sabrina said with tears that filled her water lines.
The mirror completely cracked, and each glass stabbed a part of Sabrina’s room. It shredded up her pillows, and comfort set, and her nightstand. It murdered everything but herself, and her dream catcher.
“What do you want?” Sabrina asked.
“I want nothing more than your ssspirit.” It slithered.
“No! Where did my grandmother go?”
“You can only see her in your dreams, that’s the only way to save her. But if she is saved, and you wake up, your spirit will be mine.” the dark shadowy figure said.
Sabrina couldn’t believe it. She felt as if she was in an endless nightmare with demons pulling her body apart. Thats how bad the pain was for her, to see her grandmother gone, and maybe gone forever.
She gripped her dream catcher to her chest with her eyes closed.
She falls to her knees with each piece of glass spiking her legs. Leaving slices in her night gown. “Grandma, please, please come back, I call out to your mind, spirit, and soul, to return back to me.”
“I’m afraid she won’t be coming back, unless you sleep.”
“No, that can’t be.”
“That’s the only way.”
Sabrina went over to her bed that had large and small pieces of glass that were spread out and shattered all over it. She touched the glass but three of them caved into her knees. One on the left and two on the right.
She started to remove the caved in glass, with her bare fingers. It felt like pins of needles inside of her knees.
“Time is ticking little Sabrina.”
“Okay, okay.”
Sabrina proceeded to Shake off as much glass as she could from her bed. She dusted it off, smacking her pillow against the bed.
“I’ll be expecting your spirit.” The dark shadow figure whispered.
Sabrina dozes off to sleep and she is in another world. She saw puffs of white clouds, sparkling wings from a distance and rainbows.
“Where am I?”
“Sabrina sweetheart, is that you?” Her grandmother turned around and welcomed Sabrina with open arms.
“Grandma!”
“My Babygirl, Sabrina.”
Her grandmother wore a soft blue night gown with her natural dark, course, curly hair out just like Sabrina’s.
“Grandma, we have to leave. Please. There is a black shadow figure that is in my room, it broke through the mirror and now there is glass all over my room. It told me, if I help you, your spirit will return and depart from it, but if I wake up after helping you, it will take my spirit.”
Sabrinas eyes became weary.
Her grandmother said, “Sweetheart, you do not need to worry. You need to have faith, in your ability to channel different energies, and to utilize them to your own will.”
“How do I do that?” She asked.
“You do that with your dream catcher, catch this dream and bring it to the mirror.”
“Okay, I will do that, but if I wake up, will it take my spirit?”
“No sweetheart, it will not because you’re saving me and yourself in your realm.”
“Okay, I will do it!” Sabrina said after she gave her grandmother a tight hug.
Sabrina returns back to her realm, on the way back she saw flashes of the colorful rainbow that stayed in her eyesight till she woke up.
“Your back, I guess that means I stay with her spirit after all.” The dark shadow figure said.
“You’re right, you do.” Sabrina said. “But not for long.”
She walked all over the glass on the floor with her dream catcher in her hand and she held it up to the last piece of glass that hung on the mirror.
“I call for my grandmothers' mind, spirit, and soul. She will return to me because she is holy. She is the way I know and all I know.” Sabrina said.
“What? You can’t do that!”
A beam of white light shined through the last piece of glass that hung and each piece of glass, large and small, went back into the mirror, not one crack was found.
The black figure said, “You’ll regret this little Sabrina.”
The black shadow figure left, and the grandmother's spirit returned to the floating glass mirror where she and Sabrina can communicate with each other again.
