A ski jumper talks about his current position.
At the press conference, Desmond Polite wore his gold medals around his neck and the American flag draped his shoulders. He kept laughing and exhaling sharply.
“Desmond, what does it feel like to be the first multiple gold winning black athlete in ski jumping?”
“Firstly, I consider myself to be an athlete who happens to be black. I don't define myself in any other way than that.”
“Okay, so what is it like to know that you have so many gold medals?”
“They’re just a reminder to the work I put in to get here. I say life is good.”
