The night lives like we do. It consumes the day to sustain itself. The darkness spreads itself around the planet and grabs the attention of those who witness it. The darkness isn’t completely dark. Its eyes illuminate the planet in a way no one can describe. The dark skies of the past became something that the majority took as a beautiful gift.
The eyes of the darkness make the night a spectacle that everyone loves to see. Every night, everyone wants to take pictures of its eyes or bathe in the light it provides. No longer worrying about the pitch black of night after the eyes came to observe them. Most people love the contrast from the daylight because the night is more mysterious. The way how eyes can disappear and then new ones appear. The lovely nature that these eyes can form pictures that people can find meaning in. They find it far more beautiful than the mundanity within the day. Where everything is clear to see and safety is assured.
There are those of us who are afraid of the night. Those who see the true nature of the eyes that stare back at us. The distress of the darkness planning to consume all of us trying to expose it. The horrifying creatures that the darkness conjures will come. All the things that we frightened individuals are made fun of for. The things that people call crazy because we see the true horrors.
There are no explanations for the night, there is no way to reason with the night either. It will slowly consume the day with each passing moment. It will stare at the planet every single time the sun leaves. It will conjure creatures to stalk every human, hoping they will catch us off guard. The darkness will always hide its true form, the unknown being that only a select few can see it for what it is. We will always disappear after we show that we know the truth, and the people will never look for us when we go missing. The day will never help or fight back against the night, it is the law of nature.
We can only hope more people realize what is true before it is too late.
