The Estates Beyond the Nine Gates

The origins of a Superhero inspired by Charles C. Jenkins

By Katherine D. GrahamPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In the solitude of the dead hours the moon bathed the shadowy night as the heat of the evening bore down. A benighted woman saw fitful wisps of auroras race like wild ghouls of the night. Traces of fire darted from their eyes. In a flash, they illuminated the direction of her destiny’s path.

During the times of limitless discontentment, that come when a person is young, she had accepted any offerings of Divine providence. They had caused her to tumble into a vortex. Her life’s quest was to discover how to control entry into and departure from different estates held beyond nine gates of the maze into which she had been dropped.

The first gate opened into an estate dominated by religions that honour a great spirit. The second held the polar estates of governments. The voice of the common human resounded in the third. The fourth gate held the messages of journalism, controlled by the rich in the world economic forum. The fifth gate encased credible, noncredible and incredible outliner opinions. The sixth gate held intellectuals who used observable experience to discover truth and beauty. The seventh gate contained futuristic advisors, analysts and consultants, who led the masses. They showed how truth and beauty can become lies and ugliness. The eighth gate enclosed individuals with bespoke transformations. The ninth portal was accessed by following an unseen, universal guiding power that created and destroyed chaos and order.

The woman faced the unknown by applying knowledge and wisdom. She controlled passage through the gates using her superpowers. The unsuspecting heroine dared to be her one-of-a-kind unique self to refine and redefine an understanding of loving and being loved.
