The End of Summer

There was a cool breeze outside. She stood outside reflecting on the last few months. This year had been a difficult one. The winter had been cold, but once the trees turned green, she had been sure that things would begin to look up. There were so many things she had wanted to do, she wanted to see the lake, the stars glistening over the water.
