The Divorced Billionaire Heiress - Chapet 1 Divorce

A message rang on the cell phone.

[Please come to the hospital to donate blood as soon as possible.]

When Nicole saw this message, she was stunned for a moment, as if her heartbeat had stopped for a second.

The sender's name was "Esposito."

Ding!

Another message immediately followed, a notice from the bank. They had received a transfer of $500,000.

Nicole swiped up the screen to read the old text messages from her conversation with her husband.

[Remember to go to the hospital].

[Transfer: $500,000].

[Remember to go to the hospital to donate blood].

[Transfer: $500,000].

[Please come to the hospital immediately.]

[Transfer: $500,000].

...

During their three years of marriage, the only reason Nicole's husband, Eric Ferguson, would start a conversation with her was to tell her to go to the hospital to donate blood. Or rather, to sell her blood. Nicole's blood was sold to... Wendy Quade.

Other than that, Eric treated Nicole like a stranger throughout their marriage.

This month alone, Nicole had already donated blood three times. It was more than her body could handle.

Nicole sat on the couch as her eyes grew heavy and began to blur. Yesterday, while she waited for Eric to get off work, she stood in the rain for over an hour, so today she felt sick and dizzy, and she didn't show up at the office. Eric probably didn't know she had a fever either.

She coughed as she held her phone, unsure whether to answer. Suddenly, an unknown number sent her a message that crushed her last shred of perseverance and self-esteem.

[Even though they call you 'Mrs. Ferguson,' you're nothing more than a puppet who's shamelessly carried that title for three years. Has Eric even looked at you? He slept at my house last night. If I were you, I'd find a hole to crawl into right away. You're just a nasty, home-wrecking cat!]

'A homewrecking cat?'

Nicole suddenly felt suffocated, depressed, and restless. Nicole was Eric Ferguson's legitimate wife. She had given up her family and friends to marry this man three years ago, and yet she was still being branded a nasty, home-wrecking bitch?

Once again, it felt like her heart was being squeezed. All those feelings she'd accumulated for Eric over her humble years as his wife suddenly shattered.

After that message, she received a photo. It was Eric's peaceful sleeping face. His handsome, sculpted features were like a sophisticated piece of art that made her feel drawn to him, like a moth drawn to a flame. This photo was proof of the previous message.

The woman curled up on Eric's shoulder was none other than Wendy Quade. Although both of their eyes were closed, the corner of Wendy's lips was proof that she was awake at the moment.

They looked like a pair of intimate lovers.

Her phone rang suddenly. It was a call from Ferguson Village.

When Nicole answered, Eric's mother, Quinn, simply ordered her to head over there immediately.

"Nicole, have you forgotten what day it is? The maids have the day off, so hurry up and come cook for us!"

Nicole made a face of disdain and hung up the phone without saying a single word.

She had been walking a tightrope when it came to Eric Ferguson, trying to hold on to what was left of this fragile marriage.

At the office, everyone underestimated her, but she still did her best to play the role of Eric's secretary.

At home, Eric's mother and sister belittled her for her "unknown origins." They were mean and bothered her every chance they got. They bossed her around, ordered her to cook, do laundry, and even clean the house. Nicole, who was supposed to be the Young Lady of the Ferguson family, was treated like a lowly slave. Yet, she remained friendly and obedient. Furthermore, she never complained about any of this to Eric, for fear of upsetting him and putting him in a difficult situation.

He had endured so much that he had become numb to everything.

Despite how much others looked down on her, Nicole was willing to persist and endure anything for her husband Eric Ferguson.

However, in the past three years, Eric never seemed to remember that she was his wife. The most he wanted to talk to her about was when she gave him work to do at the office, or urged him to donate blood and transferred money to him.

Finally, Nicole felt exhausted. She couldn't take it anymore.

It wasn't the first time Wendy Quade had tried to irritate her. In the past, Nicole could always handle those harsh and cruel words, but this photo completely trampled on her dignity.

Humiliation, loneliness, and a chill ran through her.

'Were my three years of marriage just a joke?'

At that moment, Nicole's expression showed sadness. She had finally made up her mind.

'Good. It's time for this joke to end.'

Nicole looked up the conversation with Eric on her phone and, without hesitation, sent him a message.

[Let's get a divorce].

Although she still felt dizzy, she knew this was the right decision.

Eric immediately called her. Nicole was already expecting her angry reaction at that moment. The man's harsh, cold voice rang out as he said, "Nicole, why are you making a fuss now? How much money do you want? Just give me a number. The doctor said Wendy is in critical condition..."

Nicole forcefully suppressed her dizziness and interrupted her words. She smiled coldly and said in a hoarse voice, "Eric Ferguson, I'll see you at City Hall in an hour, or if you want, you can watch her kick the bucket."

She hung up the call after saying this. Immediately, she received another message.

[Transfer: $1,000,000].

"Hahaha...".

Nicole laughed out loud as tears flowed uncontrollably from her eyes.

'This is absurd! It's too ridiculous...'
