Deliveries were a charade in the mornings and sometimes late at noon. Restaurants opened at 11am and only a few opened at 9.
Otto will drive an hour long in hopes his phone will ring but always waited an hour longer to see no calls come through.
Randomness seemed pleasing as fixed schedules became predictable. Though larger tips and surprising interests made waiting seem more tolerable.
Longer lashes at front counters made Otto count to 5 and grim looks from sour customers made responses short and quick.
Hopes of a smooth delivery was Otto’s best desire but potholes and swaying drivers made delivering act 1 scene 2.
Suspenseful, toggling was as vehicles followed close.
To speed up caused a little dilemma as slowing down caused tantrums.
Cops disguised by curb corners made Otto more aware and his eyes grew wider and beamed brighter on taking a right on red.
“Keep Fortera Odd”was a casual theme, a disguised “happy theme”.
Grafitti merely did a thing to blur it’s inapparent decay.
Living mobile sounded displeasing and unappealing as advertised.
It reminded him of the discomforts from camping outside alone.
Parks were unlikely; everybody appeared yellow.
He trusted it wasn’t the methamphetamine they pretended not to sell.
Jaundice was a far guess but very whelming to comprehend.
He felt it be a few people and not a neighborhood at large.
Illusionists was Fortera, they made his eyeballs swirl.
There was more to see and less to believe and so he thought to jot some more.
Al
A random stranger appears beside your car door at 3:43 am, in a beanie, and a neon green sweatshirt with two possibilities in mind; either to sanction you or pretend to not be your thief.
It was 3:43 am in the morning and Otto was deep asleep.
Too disoriented to speak posh he struggled for a tone; “how’s it going?” sounded awkward as his greetings came out false.
“I noticed you for the past three days, is everything okay?"
A man called Al from North Carolina had offered a room to stay.
A space for more than 4 days was more than a gift to him.
“I apologize” Otto said to Al as he zoned out across his seat.
Explaining waiting to start his job became too tiring to explain and Al began to speak to him like someone mute for long.
Otto could sense an excitement from being able to speak a word.
Hostility was almost next to death in Fortera’s atmosphere.
Friendly interest and congeniality was more treasured than a beggar’s spare change and couldn’t help but pour his mind out as Otto was all ears.
"i'm here with my company Northern Energy."
He had spoken with trifling novelty.
The chances of being an Estimator always loomed strongly with potential.
Unaware Otto once lived at the Inn Al showed him up and around, and the moment he set out for North Carolina Otto didn’t wait to lodge in.
Lunch?
Thai food was a casual invite and a friendly gesture and Maui was due in two days.
A random gossip had began to unfold as Alice began to speak.
Nosey diners and a frequent waitress made her intro short and sweet but gentle scuffles and mixed postures made some wordless groans concealed.
Too abash to say and concealed to reveal, Otto could only wait.
Although confused and curious much he thought to probe a little.
Faltering assumptions were speculative and risky it was for mere talk.
Her boxes were heavy and the trip was near so Otto rushed his plate.
Turning around and stirring around gave Otto a few more hints, and mute words with assorted gestures were jigsaws he couldn’t resist.
- Otto.
