The Diary Of Mishelle Gold

WOW — what an incredible phone call. My Julie has just phoned me and said that she’s passed her exams, got her degree and wants to be a partner in the Fashion House!!! When did she grow up? Overnight? We had a long chat and I said for her to settle in first, I’ll start her in design, and we’ll see what her strengths are. I can’t do favourites but she is my daughter and I am so proud of her. Well Done Julie!!!

Have got this work dinner tonight and I do not feel like going at all! Had an open morning in one of the houses I’m listing and it was a busy three hours. However, it does look like I’ve got a buyer — $5,450,000 — will have to see if she sends that email in the morning as promised. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the dinner, even bought a smart new dress for it, and I don’t have to go on to the cocktail bar afterwards like most of the team do. It’s been nice meeting up with the office again after a little while away and Mary seems the perfect manager for our team. Strangely, the girls were behaving themselves. Usually it’s “did you hear? Did you see it in the media? Blah Blah Blah”, but nothing, just pleasant and work. MMM maybe Mary’s having a good effect on them already.

Jake is taking his final high school exams over the next two weeks. He seems confident enough and he wants to follow his brother and go to University, but Jake wants to be a lawyer. A few years of studying there. We’ll talk more when we go to mum’s next month. I’m pleased though, he is looking ahead.

Mary has asked me if I would consider being her number two. I explained that I am very busy with the family and another company but I’ll talk more with Jack. I don't really want to add to my work load! Nice of her though, especially as she doesn’t really know me but she said that she’s going on the figures and how long I’ve been with the company. I was one of the first to join when it opened. So, well, I’ll see.

Spoke to mum earlier and she is loving her dancing classes. I said I was worried for her but she shot me right down: “I’ve been dancing since before you were a twinkle in daddy’s eye, I am strong enough!” I love her! She wants me to take a few classes — no way — I never could dance, piano is the best I could ever do. Where are you dad? Ha ha ha.

Have an open afternoon tomorrow for that house with four floors, six bedrooms, five bathrooms and two pools, plus a lift if you don’t like the glass stairs — I’ve set the time for 1pm to 5pm. It is expensive — $9,000,000. We’ll see what offers we get. Senora said she’ll come and support me because she’s actually got a client who’s interested. Let’s hope because that is a nice commission.

Must get ready for the dinner now. Already showered so I need to dress and put my makeup on (shouldn’t take long!). This hotel is quite nice and not too expensive. Mary said to charge it to the company (which I have done before) but I’ll ask the boss first, it is a lot of money. They do a nice breakfast here, cereals, cooked, fruit or croissants and, of course, I can have room service if I want. Must remember to get back before 11.30pm because Jack is calling me. He’s still on tour but is going to ring before rehearsal. Rehearsing in the middle of the night? Or is the time different there? I never can work it out.

Have a great evening yourself diary, let’s hope I have some fun xx
