Umbra’s POV: The Day of Destiny

I remember the exact moment it all changed, the day I knew I was destined for something far greater—and far darker—than I ever imagined. The lab was quiet, too quiet, as if the universe itself was holding its breath. My hands trembled as I initiated the final sequence. They called me mad, obsessed, but I knew they were wrong. This experiment would make me a god among men.

When the containment field failed, I saw my life flash before me—years of ridicule, rejection, and loneliness. But in that blinding flash, something else was born. The darkness surged through me, and I felt it, a living entity wrapping itself around my soul, whispering promises of power, of vengeance. The agony was unbearable, but beneath it, I felt something new, something… unstoppable.

As I staggered to my feet, I caught my reflection in the shattered glass. My form was no longer solid; I had become something inhuman, something more. My shadow rippled, and with a thought, it moved as if alive. The darkness obeyed me, responded to my will.

In that moment, the fear that had once gripped me turned to cold resolve. I was no longer Zain Malik, the forgotten scientist. I was Umbra, master of shadows, and I knew, with every fiber of my being, that I was destined for great evil.

They had their chance to see my brilliance, to embrace it. Now, they would see my wrath. The world would know my name, not as a hero, but as a force of nature. And I would carve that name into their hearts with darkness and despair.
