“Nobody can hear you scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say.”
I thought as an explosion threw my shocked body out of gravity and into the unknown. The vast, open unknown darkness of space. Just before the explosion, I was sitting in my quarters, the grand princess of Athornia’s quarters. This is a heavy title, but I think I carry it as well as to be expected considering I am only sixteen years old. A baby in time. With generations still alive and able to thrive. See, in the world I come from, Athornia, we are not human, not like earth. We live to be hundreds sometimes a thousand years old. We look like humans, except when we use our powers, then we take our natural state. It differs for each one of us Athornian’s.
Anyway, before the explosion I was sitting in my quarters thinking about all the unrest I have been hearing about, throughout the galaxy. It seemed to me as if every planet was facing some hardship and whatever species inhabited it were growing upset with their planets shall we say government. “Someday, when I am in power,” I thought to myself. And just as I did BOOM! A loud explosion, I jumped up just about to reach my door when, BOOM! Another explosion. This time however, it was my quarters.
I had no time to react. Everything, including me flung out into the darkness. We were way above the stars the last light above the atmosphere of any planet. I was out of breath in fact, I had no breath. I was slowly suffocating within the vacuum of space, I tried to make out what was around me but couldn’t focus my eyes, just as I started to feel dazed, just as soon as darkness was about to overcome me, while frantically praying for a savior. I felt something hard hit me. It was moving so fast I couldn’t even register the pain from the impact. I tried to scream, involuntarily, but nothing came out. I guess it’s true what they say. Or I could’ve been too shocked to formulate my voice, regardless I was moving, and moving fast.
As my body and brain calmed down enough to register anything, really. I noticed the rock-hard form was the frame of a male. “He better at least be cute” I thought to myself, upset with everything at that point. I mean, I may still die but not yet.
Before I knew it, we were right Infront of another ship, not my ship, the realization then dawned on me. “I am being kidnapped.” Instead of fighting my captor, I realized this is the only way to survive as of now. I wonder if the other explosions were a diversion from the real plot. Kidnap the princess.
We landed in a brightly colored yellow and steel gray room; it was a docking room meant to be bright for ships to see. As soon as we landed, I gulped in as much air as I could possibly stand. “In and Out, In and Out,” I kept telling myself, just trying to regain full consciousness, and get my lungs to breath normal. My hands were on my knees, head down, and bent over. After what felt like ages, I finally started to stand up straight, and took another look around me. That’s when I heard the most brilliantly deep, dark voice I had ever encountered. It had an air of authority yet, a mild hint of concern.
“Princess, are you ok?”
Although I liked his voice, I knew this man was not really my savior, so instead of melting and thanking him for saving me I say:
“Just peachy, you?”
He lets out a low laugh, and speaks.
“I’d be better if I didn’t just risk my life to save a princess, so spoiled and pampered.”
Instead of continuing on with any insults I could come up with I just glared, cleared my throat and asked.
“Where are we? What do you want from me? And lastly, am I ever going home?”
He turned on his heels motioning for me to follow, and seeing as I had no other choice I obliged. He walked to a metal door and started typing in a code.
“hellooo, I asked you a few questions, are you Gunna give me any answers?”
“Yes and no.” He stated.
Ok, I’ll wait until you’re ready.” I sarcastically said.
First, he finished typing in the code and letting the door slide open, he walked and I walked. The anticipation of what all this could be about making me a nervous wreck.
“Well, could u at least answer whether I am ever going home?”
“No, you will never be going home. You are ours now Princess.”
