The Buzz begins
Poor fly

Zzzzzp… zzzzzzzp… zzzp... zzzzzzzzzp... zzzzzzp.. zzzp.. zzzzzzzzzz…
TZAP !
Grace shuddered at the sound, as another fly sizzled on the barbecue bars of the violet electric fly trap that hung above her father's grocery store counter. Grace couldn't bear that noise and was determined to smash the dread device. When the store closed for lunch, Grace tiptoed out and stood on a chair, reaching up.
Facing the violet glare of the lamp, Grace felt a little light headed. As she extended her left hand towards the hook that held the device, she felt giddier still. Mesmerised by the swirling, stupefying, sultry, stultifying glow, she could not help herself. As if of its own will, the index finger of her outstretched hand reached out until it touched the live mesh.
TZAP !
Although the shock was slight, it was enough to make her fall from the chair.
For three weeks, Grace stayed in her bed, tended first by her mother and then by her father. Then, one morning, Grace felt an irresistible urge to spring up onto the frame of her open bedroom window. Vibrating her shoulders, she felt as if filigree wings had sprouted from her back, before finding herself zooming up into the air, observing multiple images of the world below.
One image caught her attention: a man snatching a bag from a frightened elderly lady, before heading into a deserted alleyway.
"No" she screeched, as she darted down to street level. Knocking the bag thief onto his back, she sank her proboscis deep into his abdomen.
When he was discovered, later that day, all that was left was a dried out husk of a man.
The Buzz had claimed her first victim.

I wish I had a proboscis too hahahahahaha. Loved your story!
Brilliant and hilarious, Ray! Great challenge entry!
I don’t know how I feel about the Buzz. Her method of vengeance seems a little too excessive. But to be serious, masterfully penned, Raymond!
