THE BLOOD VIAL

The Last Seven Days

By Juliet AbbeyPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Prologue

Born in the 20th century, I had no problem calling anything a little beyond ordinary— even ghosts, just imaginary creations. Yet here I was, thousands of years from my world and time, standing before a floating being they all called a goddess.

If I had seen this eight days ago, I would have been looking around for the ropes suspending her, always searching for the logical explanation, yeah, that's me. Everything has to have a simple answer, right? Wrong. Nothing normal has happened in the last few days, from strange sea beings to time defying mirrors and now — a floating being.

Being in this strange place has taught me things no man, teacher, or author could have taught me in a thousand years. Maybe that’s why I had to travel here—to learn them myself.

"Don’t take the vial. You would disrupt the balance of time," Athena said.

I wasn’t listening. Hadn’t time already betrayed it's balance when it brought me here? I just wanted to go home—back to my friends, back to my normal. As I stood before the vial, memories of home flooding my mind.
