I've got three things to do today, the first one being I've got to find my son. The lawyer didn't know if he still alive or not, but he did have the address to where he lived the last time they had contact with Matthew. The next thing was to go to the Flower shop up in Barsstown. Lawyer Marsh told me to go and see if everything was the way I'd like it ran. I could change it or keep it the way it was. The last thing was to come back and make my will .
"We're here, Mama Clara," said Harry. He got out the car and came around to my side and opened the door. As I stepped out of the car, a tall light skinned black came out the door and walked down the steps. As he came down the three steps he was asking, " Are you all lost? I can give you all directions if you are." "Is this the the home of Mr. James Matthew Tiny, sir," I asked. "Yes it is," he confirmed. "And just who do I have the pleasure of addressing, may I ask?" "I am Clara Lewis Tiny and I would like to see Mr. Tiny if he's home," I said ,hopefully. "Does Papa know you he asked? Are you a relative of ours," he asked. I smiled and held out my hand, saying, "I am his mother and since I heard you call him papa, that makes you my grandson." He shook her hand and as she said these words, his jaw dropped. The expression on his face was priceless as he exclaimed, "You're my grandma? you're my grandma?" He pulled her into his arms and hugged her, tearfully, saying, "Grandpa kept saying that we'd meet you one day. Papa is going to be so happy." They proceeded into the house.
As they walked into the large den, Mama Clara noticed a large picture on the wall that was one of her when she was young. A man was sitting in a large recliner with a green shirt on that was covered with marigold flowers on it. "Papa," exclaimed James Jr. "Grandma's here! She's finally here, Papa." Now we was all in tears. As James stood slowly he reached for her crying, "Mama, mama, I'm so glad to finally see you mama...
Now, after all the introductions had been made, Mama Clara began to tell her story. She told them how her and Matthew had come to marry and that they was the legitimate heirs. They could hold their heads up where ever they went. When she found out that she was with child, she had went straight to Matthew's mother. Mrs. Tiny then arranged for Netty Bawlowe's daughter, Anndean to come work as the maid and sent me up to Barsstown to tend to her sister's daughter, Faith, that was with child like me. After three months she had a baby boy and I was starting to show. After her baby was born which was James, they let her heal for six weeks and nurse her baby. Then she had to go back to work at Mrs. Tiny and the Longmire's Estate. Mama Clara hadn't planned to stay but two or three hours but she felt so good being around her family she didn't get up to leave until one thirty. She hoped to visit again in two days and talk about moving with her family on a permanent basis. Now it was off to the flower shop and back to the Lawyers. It was time I made my will out. I knows I can't live forever...
