The carnage as the flesh, meat, muscles, tendons are ripped from her bones with precision and ease..."

THE BUNKER DOOR IS CLOSED...
Summer is sitting down, with her back against the wall, gazing at intricate water stains opposite to her. Her four year old daughter Rebecca is laying in her lap while her ten year old son Tommy rests his head on a folded military-green blanket placed over her thigh. Summer is so exhausted that her mind fazes out and starts daydreaming different designs from the water stains. The way someone would with clouds.
She is stroking her heart-shaped necklace, imagining rabbits, faces, turtles, etc... When suddenly, she happens to look down at Tommy, for a brief second. She spots a small weird black oily fluid stain on the back of his ear. She dabs her fingertip with some of her spit and reaches down to wipe the oily stain. But as she’s about to wipe, the stain suddenly shifts and moves away from her fingertip, catching her off guard. Her heartbeat goes into overdrive and mom instincts take over. She pinches the black fluid and detaches it as if it were a leech. She takes a closer look at it, as it dangles off her fingertips. At first, she thinks it's some kind of oozy slug, but after a few seconds, this thing starts stretching out its body, like a piece of gum. She realizes it’s trying to go back to Tommy.
Summer freaks out and flings the weird ooze, like a slimy booger, across the bunker room. It smacks against the dirty wall and splatters into a decent-sized ink blot. Summer watches as it quickly starts to congeal back into its original shape.
“Honey,” Summer tells Tommy, as she taps his head. “I need you to sit up sweetheart.”
Tommy shuffles, rotates to his mom, and sleepily says, “Mom... I'm tired.”
Summer looks over at the black fluid, as it sludges it’s way down the wall. It's outstretched body is slowly moving back towards Tommy like some sort of magnet. She lifts up her leg and tries to stomp it with her heel but is unsuccessful. The rustling and jiggling of her leg wakes Tommy up.
“Mom, please just let me sleep, I'm tired,” says Tommy with an exhausted bewildered face.
Tommy glimpses at his mom who has a mortified look. She is staring at something behind him. Tommy turns around, spots the weird ooze, and asks, “Mom, what is that?”
“I have no clue sweetheart, I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before.”
Tommy does some quick thinking, takes off a sneaker, and smashes the fluid as hard as he could. The ooze explodes like a water balloon under the shoe. Tommy lifts up his shoe and the black ooze immediately recedes and shrivels up like drywall putty.
“Eww... What is that stuff?” asks Tommy.
“I don't know, but whatever you did killed it,” replies his mom.
Tommy touches the dried-up ooze on the bottom of his sneaker like a typical curious child.
“Don't touch that shit,” chastises Summer, “we don't know what it is.”
Tommy wipes the ooze, from the bottom of his shoe, on a piece of cardboard, and puts his sneaker back on. As he is tying his shoelace, he spots a droplet-sized amount of ooze stuck on the tip of his finger. He laughingly says, “Ha, look mom I got some on me.”
Summer is not thrilled one bit. She shakes her head at Tommy, and responds, “hurry up and wipe that off please, I don't want it to make you sick.”
“I won't,” replies Tommy, as he sniffs the ooze, “I think it's dead anyway.”
Summer looks down at Rebecca to see if any of that black ooze is near her baby girl. As she scans the area, Tommy has the droplet of black ooze is about an inch away from his nose.
Tommy takes a big whiff and doesn't smell anything. The ooze suddenly stretches, attaches itself to the tip of Tommy's nose, and quickly squirms inside his nose. His eyes feverishly dilate but quickly return back to normal. Summer doesn't see this and has no clue what just happened.
Tommy lies to Summer and says, “it's all gone.”
"Okay good, you can go back to sleep now.''
Tommy, without saying another word, lays back down on his mom's thigh. He takes hold of his mom's hand and places it under his chin, as if it were a pillow. Summer thinks nothing of this and just smiles to herself.
A few minutes pass when Summer starts to doze off while rubbing her heart-shaped necklace. But immediately after she's about to go to dreamland. Tommy takes a firm and aggressive hold of her arm under his chin. Which surprises Summer.
Tommy starts sniffing his mom's arm. Taking deep satisfying sniffs as if his mom was some sort of juicy delicious steak.
“Honey, are you okay?” says Summer with sincere concern on her face. “You’re scaring me.”
Tommy doesn't answer and just continues to savor her scent.
“Okay, sweetheart ,” says Summer, as she pries her arm away from Tommy’s grasp, “that’s enough.”
Tommy looks up at his mom and his eyes are completely blackened.
Summer sighs in despair upon seeing Tommy’s darkened eyes.
Tommy’s lips twitch as Summer looks at him. His human teeth turn rotten and fall off. His mouth mutates into a morbid sharp-tooth being.
As Summer tries to sit still trying not to wake Rebecca, she slowly reaches behind her back and places her hand over the Nine Millimeter pistol her husband left for her. She grips the gun and waits to see what her son does. She watches her poor son morph into a hideous monstrosity right in front of her eyes.
Fighting back untethered tears, Summer decides to make the ultimate decision no parent should ever have to. She pulls out the gun from behind her and aims it point blank at Tommy’s head. As tears pour down her face she cocks the gun and closes her eyes.
Without warning, Rebecca bounces up and bites Summer on her hand with great downward pressure. The bite is strong enough to make Summer drop her gun.
Summer yells in severe pain as a chunk of her hand is clearly missing. Summer turns to Rebecca and her baby girl is no more. She too has blackened eyes and sharp, disturbing teeth like her brother.
“Oh my GOD MY BABIES!” screams Summer at the top of lungs.
Rabid Rebecca makes another lunge at her mother but Summer manages to kick Rebecca away from her. Tommy jumps and bites his mom on the leg and rips another chunk out of Summer’s flesh.
Summer bends over and tries to fetch the gun she dropped. But as she bends down Tommy vaults at his mom’s head and clamps down on her neck. Summer takes hold of the gun and is about to shoot Tommy when Rebecca catapults and munches down on her mother’s face. Summer’s eyes grimacing as she sees Rebecca’s demon-filled eyes gnawing on her nose and mouth like a piranha.
Summer tries shooting her kids but misses every shot she takes. Instead hitting the ceiling, shattering, and destroying one of the two bunker bulbs. The carnage as flesh, meat, muscles, tendons are ripped from her bones with precision and ease.
Summer’s body can’t handle the trauma and she dies. Her demon children continue to eat her dead corpse well into the night.
A few hours pass, Rebecca and Tommy are now well fed and full. They both transform back into their human form.
“I’m sleepy,” says Rebecca.
Tommy lets out a big yawn and replies, “me too.” Tommy takes hold of Rebecca’s hand and helps her lay down on the military-green blanket. He wipes Rebecca’s bloody face and then wipes down his own. Afterwards, both the children lie down, cuddle up together, and they both go to sleep.
Summer’s corpse is almost all bones. All that’s left is some flesh still hanging off her mutilated fingertips. But wrapped around her lifeless fingers is the heart-shaped necklace. It is wide open and inside is a small photo of her family.
