Stripes of the Kavat
A companion's true colors
Waking, startled, she looked for Kuva, her kavat with fascinating red stripes. He was staring at the door, very interested. “You heard it, too?”
Her bare feet on the rug was the only sound as she went to the door. Cracking it open, a violent wind WHOOSHED into the room. Knocked back, she ran to close it quickly. She turned to her kavat, but Kuva was no longer there. Instead, a man resembling the Orokin of old grinned wickedly at her.
“How do you think I got my stripes?” He reached out, and her world went dark.

Bittersweet and not quite solace
Chapter 1: Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. I watch as they slowly transition from purple to blue to gray. This used to be my favorite time of day; it still is, but… I sigh with both a bit of longing and a bit of appreciation. I can still enjoy what I have while also wishing for the previous days of darting around in the dusk skies, right? Moving away from the window, I stretch, and then gently manifest my wings. My Fae doctor has given me a list of exercises and I have done them diligently for the past week. What I haven’t told anyone is that I’m doing the exercise routine two to three times a day. I’m not going to sit around and be thought of as lazy.

Anton sat at the large oak table in the mediation services office. He had already been there for twenty minutes. He was fifteen minutes early and eager to get this over with. He already knew that she wasn’t going to agree to anything. If Karin thought he killed it at the first court date, wait until she sees what’s about happen here.
