“What is it you’re striking for?” A well kept businessman asked.

“We need more money as writers.”

“Do you care about what’s going on in Sudan?”

The striker looked down at her sneakers. “I care. I want everyone to be well.”

The businessman scratched his head. “Yes, but as long as you get paid first….”

“What are you calling me selfish?”

“Yes. And I mean it in the fullest, most virtuous way.”

The woman looked at the businessman incredulously.

“Whaaa?”

“Selfishness is a good thing, contrary to what you may have heard.”

The computer in her head calculated. She smiled.
