The black English teacher at a private school…just imagine that. Cony Goffman stood as such an individual. When the class couldn’t quite get past a certain Shakespearan passage, he never lost his cool. He remained an ice cube.

“The repetition of ‘tomorrow’ is to indicate the days rolling over into the next. Shakespeare makes the metaphor of an actor walking the planks and then seemingly vanishing without any significance.’

Eyes turned to saucers. The students actually became engaged and not only understood the material but it resonated. Hands shot up like rockets. Goffman flashed a smile and picked a student.
