Qionghai City, Hainan Province, a small mountain village, lived a farmer named Qi Ning'er. One day, Qi Ning'er in the betel nut garden weeding, suddenly found in a large stone, coiled a small python, this python less than a meter long, a juvenile python, lying on the stone motionless. With a closer look, it turned out that it was injured, there is a two or three-inch long mouth on the tail, still bleeding.

This small mountain village has more snakes, Qi Ning'er more or less knows few snake characteristics, he knows that snakes are afraid of people, if rashly touch the snake, will be attacked by the snake, but, as long as you know how to attack the snake, be careful, will not be bitten by this snake.

He carefully approached the python and tried to touch the snake with his hand, not knowing if it was because the body was too weak, but the snake did not move.

Qi Ning'er usually likes all kinds of wild animals, sees this snake so poor, and decided to give it treatment, he took the snake home, with herbs to help it dress the wound, and then weighed the snake, it is less than four taels of weight.

After a few days, the snake's wounds healed, Qi Ning'er did not release it into the wild, and the snake stopped escaping and stayed at Qi Ning'er's house. This life lived for a full decade. Ten years, the snake became a giant python and grew to four meters long, and more than 100 pounds. Qi Ning'er also grew from a teenager to an adult, married, and had children. Python seems to have become a member of the Huang family.

We all know that snakes are wild and will attack people, but the strange thing is that this snake never seems to be a little wild, not the slightest hostile to the Zininger family, but also especially like to sleep in the bed of the Zinger. Where the python wanted to sleep, Qi Ning'er let it sleep, Qi Ning'er's bed has a small section is reserved for the python.

Qi Ning'er's son, Qi Xiaohu, just learned to walk, and went to hug the python, the python did not resist at all, the little boy could not hold it. The little boy sat on the python to play. Qi Ning'er was startled because the python to do this action is dangerous, Qi Ning'er instinctively wanted to carry his son away, but the python did not resist, but also changed its position, so that Qi Xiaohu good ride a little. From then on, the child played with the python every day, using the python as a horse, and whenever Qi Ning'er and his wife went out, the python could also help look after the house, becoming a veritable "nanny snake".

One night, Mr. and Mrs. Qi Ning'er were sleeping when they suddenly heard a frightened shout from the living room, turned on the light and were stunned to see a man in black lying on the floor of the living room, and the python was firmly wrapped around his body, and the man in black was holding the snake's head in his hands. It turns out that this is a burglar, who did not know that Qi Ninger's house has a python, and the result was entangled in the python. Qi Ning'er called the police before calming the python and saving the terrified thief.

The python can not only catch the thief but also save people. In front of the village, there is a small river when the weather is hot adults and children like to swim in the river. Once, due to heavy rain upstream, the current suddenly became fast, a younger child was accidentally swept away by the water, there were no adults in the river, and other children are not able to save others. At the critical moment, Qi Xiaohu thought of a way, he swam to the child, and the python also closely followed Qi Xiaohu's swim to the child, Qi Xiaohu commanded the child to grab the python's tail, and the python with the child swam back to the shore.

At first, the neighbors who heard that Qi Ning'er raised a python and are very scared and curious, about Qi Ning'er home to see, found that even the children also have no qualms about playing with the snake, holding the snake in the house, and running around. Neighbors have seen more, the previous fears are gone, and the children around are very fond of this python friend. The children would not hit it, and it would not attack the children.

The python grew bigger and bigger, and it ate a surprisingly large amount of food, a meal can eat ten or so chickens. Neighbors often come over to see the python and often buy some chicken to comfort it.

Why did the python lose its fierce nature, did it have a spiritual nature?

Experts at the Beijing Zoo Amphibian Reptile Museum have studied the python and explained that wild pythons are generally fierce and very dangerous. When the python prey, first bites the prey and then strangled, wait until the prey is entangled, from the head down to swallow. Generally more than a hundred pounds of python a meal to eat three or four chickens, or even swallow a whole pig and goat. After eating, basically can not eat for half a month, until after digestion and excretion of feces, only to start the second round of feeding.

So why is it that the python raised by Qi Ninger's family is not wild at all? Not only does it not hurt people, but it also helps the owner's family catch thieves and rescue drowned children. Is it true that, as the local rumors say, because of the time spent with people, the python has a spiritual nature, humane?

A python can't be humane. Pythons are low-class cold-blooded animals with incomplete brain development, unlike mammals like cats and dogs that can recognize people. In general, pythons are fierce at the beginning, but after a period of domestication, people always touch them and feed it, and the python will have certain conditioned reflexes.
