Snow Trek

By Timothy E JonesPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

The snow came the night before, dumping 5 inches of snow with temperatures that would freeze anybody in an instant. But not him, not this guy, out into the snow he marched, dressed in shorts and a shirt & not much else.

“You gain resistance over it,” he cried, “more layers equals less resistance.”

Where he was going, I couldn't say, but I know it wasn't basketball he was going to play, nor to his car to get nice and warm, for it had stayed there, long after the storm.

It was on a short hike that he had gone, in sneakers to protect him from snow. He went on the icy snow road, in his shorts and his shirt and not anything else. He mocked all the people who were bundled up tight, and stopped at two little kids who were making a big snowman.

“He needs something special,” the guy he had said, “I know what he needs; a shirt on his back.”

So, he took off his shirt, and put it on the snowman, then trudged on his way with no shirt on his back. Soon his hike was ending and back home he did go, all the way back through 5 inches of snow.

What was his point? What did he prove, for he got sick the next day when he caught a bad cold, learned his lesson he did not, the very next day he was out and about.
