It was getting cold, and Grandpa Elephant wasn't feeling well. He sat on the couch, covered with a thick blanket, and kept complaining about the cold.
"I'm cold, especially my head," he said.
When his good friends, Little Monkey, Little Deer, Little Dog, and Little Squirrel, heard about this, they took out their gloves, vests, and scarves and gave them to Grandma Elephant. They asked Grandma Elephant to knit a big sleeping cap for Grandpa Elephant.
Grandma Elephant unraveled the gloves, vests, and scarves, and added her own large shawl. She knitted and knitted until she made a very big sleeping cap for Grandpa Elephant.
Grandpa Elephant put on the big sleeping cap, sat on the couch, and covered himself with a thick blanket. He no longer felt cold.
Grandpa Elephant and Grandma Elephant asked Little Monkey, Little Deer, Little Dog, and Squirrel, who were sitting on the couch, "Are you cold without gloves, vests, and scarves?"
They felt a bit cold but said, "We're not afraid of the cold!"
At that moment, Little Dog said, "Let's go out for a run. Once we start moving, we won't feel cold anymore."
Little Deer said, "Great! I love running!"
Little Squirrel and their friends whispered to each other, "Let's run to a good place!"
Little Monkey, Little Deer, Little Dog, and Squirrel went out together.
They ran along the road in front of Grandpa Elephant's house, all the way to the big forest.
After a while, they came back dripping with sweat.
Grandma Elephant opened the door and saw that Little Monkey, Little Deer, Little Dog, and Squirrel, each had a bundle of branches on their backs. It turned out they had gone to the forest to collect dry twigs while running.
In the fireplace of Grandpa Elephant's house, a fire was lit, and the flames kept everyone warm.
As the night grew late, Grandpa Elephant was ready to sleep. He crawled into the thick down quilt and said, "It's hot inside the room. I don't need to wear a sleeping cap while sleeping. You can use it!"
"Okay!" his friends happily accepted Grandpa Elephant's big sleeping cap.
At night, Grandpa Elephant and Grandma Elephant slept in their bed.
Little Monkey, Little Deer, Little Dog, and Squirrel squeezed into the spacious sleeping cap of Grandpa Elephant and slept by the fireplace.
The fireplace burned with a warm fire, and everyone fell asleep.
Little Monkey and his friends had a dream. They dreamt of running in the big forest again, collecting more firewood for Grandpa Elephant and Grandma Elephant.
