Chapter Two: At the Heart of the Legend

As Layla wandered through the streets of this strange world, the glowing light began to wane gradually, revealing a city with an ancient character combined with advanced technological touches. Everything around her seemed like a blend of the past and present, making her feel as if she were in a disjointed dream.

Layla decided to seek more information about "The Great House" and "The Key of Wishes," which were frequently mentioned in people’s conversations. She walked towards a central square where there was a massive building that seemed to be the heart of the city. The building was adorned with twinkling lights and towering columns bearing mysterious engravings.

Inside the building, which resembled an old palace covered in glass and chrome, there was a group of people dressed in elegant clothing resembling some of the characters she had read about in the manuscripts. There was an employee standing behind a large desk, and when Layla approached him, she noticed his serious expression as he saw her picture on a piece of paper she was carrying.

"Hello, I’m looking for information about 'The Great House' and 'The Key of Wishes.' Can you help me?" Layla asked cautiously.

The employee raised his gaze and said, "You’re from the other world, aren’t you?"

Layla’s surprise was evident, and she asked, "How did you know?"

The employee responded calmly, "There are signs on the old manuscript warning us about the arrival of someone from outside time. You may have an important role in what is happening here."

The employee took Layla to a private room filled with maps and ancient manuscripts. He began to talk about the history and legends surrounding "The Great House." According to the legend, the house held a key that could open the doors of time and alter destinies. It was said that the person who discovered this key would have the power to fulfill their wishes, but at a great cost.

As the employee explained, Layla’s attention was drawn to an old map on the wall. The map displayed the location of "The Great House" and marked mysterious points along the way to it. Layla noticed that the points seemed to correspond to places in the city she was approaching.

"Are these locations part of the journey to The Great House?" Layla asked.

The employee replied, "Yes, there are challenges and puzzles at each point. You must find your way yourself, but be sure that every choice you make will have consequences."

With the employee's directions, Layla began her journey to the first point on the map. The area was filled with tall towers and dark tunnels. She made her way through alleys and dark places, finding herself in a small square with an ancient statue.

As she approached the statue, she felt an unusual movement and discovered a mysterious bronze plaque at the base of the statue. The plaque bore engravings similar to those on the manuscript she had translated. Layla tried to solve the puzzles on the plaque, and each time she answered correctly, new doors to the city opened.

While on her path, she met a young man named "Adam," who seemed to know a lot about this world. Adam was dressed in clothes similar to those she had seen in the manuscript and appeared to have lived in this world for a long time.

"I need your help," Layla said to Adam. "I’m looking for The Great House and need to understand more about this world."

Adam smiled and said, "I’m here to help you. I was looking for someone like you. Your journey will be difficult, but if you’re ready, I can be your guide."

Adam decided to accompany Layla on her journey and offered to tell her more about the upcoming challenges. They began to explore the city together, overcoming trials and puzzles, and discovering more about the secrets guarded by "The Great House."

By the end of the day, as the sun set, Layla and Adam found themselves at the entrance of a dark tunnel, indicating that the next point in their journey would be more complex. As they prepared to enter the tunnel, Layla felt that her real adventure was just beginning and that each step would bring her closer to uncovering the secrets of "The Shadow of Wishes."َ
