Secrets Of The Lake

My therapist says self care is an important step in the "healing trauma" process and I still haven't figured that out. I've been thinking that should probably include mani/pedis once every 2 weeks, shopping with my mans card, fancy dinners and drinks with my sexy, hung, muscled, chocolate boyfriend, who gives some amazing head, mind-blowing sex and fat blunts just ready to be lit. Instead, I am currently sitting in a room, in front of a lawyer, filled with my 12 cousins, 3 sisters, and my parents.

"Sissy? When can we go home, I'm hungry. I want moms sopa." My 4 year old cousin says while pulling her eldest sisters dress. Eliana looks down at her with a sad smile.

"We'll leave after we hear what the man says Victoria, I'll make some when we get home ok?"

The door opened before she can reply. A balding white guy in a fancy blue suit holding a huge water bottle and wiping his sweat with a handkerchief walked in breathing heavily.

"I apologize for being late, I am Eric, damn elevator was out. I need to relocate there is no way I can do 3 flights of stairs every time the thing gives out."

He puts down his things at his desk and flops in his chair letting out a big huff.

My mother gives me a side eye and I try and hide a smile.

"Now to business, In the death of Loraine Fernandez I will now read the last will and testament her assets included.."

I stared at the water bottle on the desk, zoned out completely until I heard my name.

"And to my favorite niece, Emerald, I leave my lake house. You are 21 and need to know the truth now. The keys are in our hiding spot and everything will become clear. It also just says a few words here at the bottom I can't make out, um, escúchame hija "

"No." My mother gets up quickly.

"What was she talking about ma." I ask, getting up too, feeling a little dizzy. I sit back down and hold my head.

"She's scared of you." a voice in my head says. My eyes widen and my head snaps to my mom. The fuck that come from!

She looks at me with a scared look in her eyes that she tries to hide.

"I need to continue ma'am." the lawyer gestures for us to sit down. My eyes never leave my parents as he continues. My cousins and sisters start whispering to each other.

"Maria I'm sorry but its time. I couldn't do it anymore, Eliana and Jesse have to care for the young ones. To you sister I give you my-"

I get up.

"Is that all for me? I want to leave."

He grabs a manila folder with my name on it and my mother tries to grab at it but I beat her.

"I will see you at home and I expect an explanation. E, Jess, One of you be there too." I say eyeing all of them. Eliana puts her head down and so does my mother. Jesse nods.

Storming out I head to my car and scream once the door shuts my thoughts repeating over and over.

What the fuck is going on.

I start my car and head home. Once there I go straight to the hiding place my aunt and I shared in the Backyard, practically a jungle with the forest and willow trees spread around by a small lake, I pass the gazebo and cross the small bridge while moving aside the branches to the biggest willow tree.

I move my hand over the trunk and see a huge clump of dirt stuck to the middle, I kick it off and brush the remaining dirt off with my hands revealing a symbol.

'A sigil aunt Lolo'

Good, what does it mean?

'Uhhh...that it's for protection and awakening?'

Yes, basically. One day when I am gone you will need to come here and touch this sigil and say the words that you see underneath.

'What words'

They'll show when it's time. Until then, just live. Eat this. She pulls out a caramel candy.

'What do you mean when it's time' I say while chewing. My vision starts to blur.

'Aunt Lo?' I blink, the water that surrounds the willow tree calming me to sleep with it's sounds.

Sleep child, you'll remember when it's time.

That was 12 years ago.

I remember waking up and continuing a normal day, forgetting all about this symbol until now.

Seeing the sigil clear of debris I put my hand over it and it starts to glow.

My eyes widen and I take a step back. Words start appearing letter by letter glowing underneath the sigil.

I am protected through my awakening

"I Am Protected Through My Awakening." I read aloud. The words and sigil turn red and smoke starts to come from the tree. I step back more past the branches and start to feel a tingle. Suddenly the willow tree engulfs in flames and I fall back from the close proximity and from a sharp pain allover my body.

I start to curl in on myself crying out in the fetal position as what looks like black ink starts to swirl on my skin. A feel of a million needle jabs attack my skin, as the ink spreads across my body it starts to place itself in intricate designs and then the pain subsides. I hear a snap come from the fire and suddenly the pain stops and the fire is out.

I stand up looking at my feet and legs seeing swirls, flowers reaching up into snakes on my thigh.

"Oh my god. What the fuck." I run inside to my room and look in my mirror. My jaw drops.

I lift my shirt and see I have tattoos all over my stomach, chest, legs, thighs, arms and back curling up to my neck. Intricate tribal patterns connecting everything, flowers, moons, medusa on my thigh, and my back? I can't even see.

I'm gonna faint.

"Emerald! We are home, can you come down stairs." My mother yells.

My eyes are still glued to my mirror. My body changed along with the tattoos. More defined. Any flaw I once had gone. What kept me frozen was my eyes. They were grey instead of my brown.

A Knock at my door and a gasp makes me turn to see my cousin Jesse.

"Jess, What the fuck." My eyes widen at my voice a deeper seductive octave.

"You touched the tree! You should come downstairs your mom is gonna flip this is awesome. You touch water yet?" He says excitedly, walking away. I run a hand through my now thick black hair and head downstairs confused.

My cousin is laughing and my mother looks as if she wants to gut him in front of everyone. When she sees me her face turns from fury to horror.

"What have you done." she says quietly. My dad says nothing, no emotion comes.

He knew this day would come

"Why am I hearing voices. What was aunt Lo talking about with the lake house." I say.

They need to hurry up and start talking. My anger feels multiplied.

"Magic is real and you're a powerful witch Em. Your parents kept it from you and left my mom with the responsibility meant for you because they wanted to raise human daughters. Your sisters are witches and knew but-"My mother interrupts. She looks pale.

"Your not just a witch Emerald. You're also an heir to a very important thing but you have to understand we only wanted you to grow up normal and make it into adulthood. We thought we did the right thing taking you in and giving you a normal life. Your the eldest out of your aunts children Emerald. None of them knew. They just grew up to know one day they would need to protect you and the throne."

"I'm 25 and you're just now telling me that I am not your child, magic is real and I'm some super freak show royal." I pause and hold the bridge of my nose and sigh. I feel so overwhelmed I feel a heat of embarrassment and anger rush over my body. "Royal what? What happens now." I ask opening my eyes to my family scared looking at something behind me. I turn to see the stove and half the wall melted. Great.

"You need to go to the lake house now. That is the only place you can get the answers you need. We are always going to be here for you and will help when you need it. We do not have the same abilities but you have a powerful coven behind you my dear. Jesse you need to go with her to protect her. I will help Eliana with the kids." My mother shakily says.

"Let's go upstairs Em, you need to pack." My cousin...brother grabs my arm pulling me to my room.

"Jesse. What the fuck." I say grabbing my luggage out of my closet.

"We just need to get to the lake house Em. Pack the important things, I need to call Eliana, I'll be in the car." He says.

One awkward and quiet hour long ride down to the lake house my mind starts to race. I look past the tree line towards the large body of water we are passing on the abandoned freeway. Everything is so white from it snowing, the water shining even though the sky looks grey and it looks like its about to snow again. I start to feel eyes on the car. A weak feeling of heat rushes through my head along with a dreadful feeling.

"Something is watching us past the tree line." I say calmly. I look at Jesse in surprise. "How did I know that. Is there?"

He just smiles at first quiet as I continue to feel weird. "That is either the good welcoming committee or the bad one. What type of feeling did you get a warm or cold one?" He asks.

"Warm." He nods and relaxes his hand further on the steering wheel.

"Good one, then." I give him the stink eye.

"What."

He glances at me and whatever he was about to say dies on his lips as his eyes pass through me to look out the window. He curses and slams on the brakes bringing us to a screeching halt.

"Emerald, you said warm right." He asks me urgently and I nod confused.

"Come with me. You are gonna have to meet your council sooner than later. Good, now we'll both get answers and I get to see old friends." He turns off the car and gets out. A council? I run my hand through my hair and slowly follow him out and to the trunk of the car.

"You probably can't sense it yet but there is death past this tree line. A lot. We need to find the area and the council. They will help explain more." He says taking out his small backpack and walking to the tree line. I follow but stop to look back at the car. Any sane person would run to steal the car and just drive away. Live a life on the run. He said death what the fuck am I getting involved in. I should run.

"Emerald. There's no running from this. Come on. The sooner you accept it the sooner things start getting better." He grabs my arm and starts to pull me away from the car.

Welp there went my survival rate.

We walked through the light snow filled forest for a good ten minuets before we came across an opening that lead to a huge clearing. I take a second to look at my surroundings. I am going to puke.

At least ten bodies are thrown carelessly around the clearing, all dismembered, and missing their legs and their torsos were stuck on wooden spikes. Blood dripping had soaked the snow and we see we are not alone in the clearing. Jesse gets their attention, their peridot eyes following all our movements.

"Cassius, Anubis. It has been a while, It's good to see you. I wish it were under better circumstances. Do you know what happened here?" I look past Jesse and see a group of 4 cloaked mid 20 something year old's 2 females, tattooed, toned, caramel skin and flawless and 2 muscled, dark skin, tattooed guys standing there looking like Gods.

Stop drooling and focus

Right. Bodies. Blood.

I cut him off before Cassius or the others could speak.

"Can someone please tell me what is going on now. I feel I have been way to calm about all of this until now and I'm still so lost. I am really regretting not stealing the car and hiding in another country."

Jesse looks back at me in slight annoyance and huffs.

Cassius looks at me and a flash of recognition shows in his eyes.

"It is the Goddess." He says. Him including the others kneel down and bow their heads to me. I snap my head to Jesse in disbelief and he looks down at the blood stained snow.

"I shall explain your majesty."

Whoever Cassius is, he is getting a promotion.

"Maybe not here though. The Witch will probably be back any minute and we need to get you to the safe house. Follow us, we have a car."

Promotion denied.

Jesse starts walking and I sulk behind him. They all walk in sync to a huge jeep and get in, I get in the back next to one of the females and Jesse awkwardly sits next to the other.

The males are up front and peel away from the disaster behind us.

Once back on the abandoned freeway and past Jesse's car.

I can't believe he is just leaving it there.

You and me both weird voice. My therapist is gonna love this, just go with the flow. I tell myself.

Cassius clears his throat.

"Your Majesty, the area has been under attack for the past 3 years and it has only gotten more and more gruesome. Mermaids have stolen a rare moonstone pendant that grants the wearer the ability to be possessed by one of the most powerful sea witches-"

He said mermaids.

"She doesn't know about her or even herself Cassius, remember." Jesse interrupts.

You can hear the frown in his voice when he speaks.

"We are Sirens. You are the next in line to become Queen of the waters. You're a siren gifted the powers of all the queens before you hidden within your tattoos making you the most powerful of the Royal bloodline, a borderline Goddess. Those born of royal blood can become human when we want, our human forms becoming witches to keep us safe on land. Our kingdoms people are made up of Mermaids who are born of unroyal blood have no powers and live only underwater as workers, guard, healers, and some scientists, we bring lessons and artifacts from every where on land back to them to build a sustainable community by learning from the humans mistakes. Our city has gotten so advanced a few started to want more. They wanted the power of a siren and the ability to come on land to live as a human and start taking over cities to force humankind into our way of life to advance them and use them for breeding and other experimentation to give them legs. The only way was either science or by using a spell only the sea witch is able to do-"

"I thought I was an all powerful Goddess." I say a little jokingly.

"You are. But darkness is not you. It may sound simple to give a mermaid legs but it is not. To do so you need a life for a life and much more. She is trapped inside a moonstone pendant, thanks to your mother, however mermaids were able steal it. Our head scientist tried for 2 years behind our backs to experiment on sailors that fell into the lake she took them and tried to attach their legs to merpeoples bodies but they weren't fully human, when we caught her and locked her up, her followers took that moment to break into the palace vault and steal the pendant along with a few more priceless items. The next morning she was gone, our people had to go into hiding and the first murder we had heard of the following week. There has been over a couple thousand murders of both human and mermaid in the past few years. The population here has dwindled and it isn't getting better. We fear it may spread to outer waters. You coming to claim the throne is perfect. You have the power to stop her, instantly." I feel the car jolt to a stop and I look up at my aunts lake home. It isn't much and definitely needs a new coat of paint. Maybe I can accept this. I mean it sounds easy.

Go inside. Now, hurry.

Cassius looks at me and a look crosses his face , like he heard it to.

"Inside now. Kara, Rose, take the queen down to floor level and get her to the chest, we have visitors. Jesse go with them. Anubis grab the bag from the trunk."

Cassius and the others move so fast it made my head spin a bit. I rush to the door fumbling with the keys. One of the girls, Kara comes over and pushes the door wide open. Ok step one change locks.

We rush inside and the girls start moving towards the master bedroom.

"There's gonna be some secret shit isn't there." as I say that Rose moves the dresser and there's a whole ass door. I knew it. We rush through and find its an elevator Rose pushes down.

"What is out there." I say.

"The mutated." Rose answered.

"The bodies of the humans and mermaids that are being tested on. They are hideous looking creatures that took a liking to ripping things apart. Like grown piranhas. Cassius and Anubis are fine though. I've seen them take on hundreds each."

We step out of the elevator and into a huge room one wall covered in metal and and the rest covered by huge red curtans. Rose pulls one back and its a living room area with a kitchen attached, I walk over to the fridge starving.

Kara goes to a bookshelf in the living room and pulls a book and the case moves aside revealing a room with plants hanging from the ceiling and cabinets along the walls. I close the fridge, food forgotten. I walk closer, drawn to a chest sitting on a table covered in papers and random little bottles. It has the same sigil as the tree.

"Put your hand on it. All should make sense when you open it." Rose says leaving the room.

I put my hand on the sigil and I feel a sense of warmth as the chest glows in front of me. I open it and hear a scream.

Rose.

We run out of the room and see rose looking past one of the red curtains.

Anubis's head was floating away from his mermaid form, which was being chewed on by a scary looking monster. Its scales were missing in some places and the legs sown onto its tails stub kicking wildly like it was trying to swim like an octopus. It just looked so unnatural I wanted to puke, It had sharp talon like nails stabbed into Anubis's body holding him in place until it saw us. It screeched and started pounding on the glass divider between us.

"Your majesty, put the crown on hurry. With the power you get you should be able to get rid of any more of these mutants before they find us." Kara says urgently.

My body moves on its own. I run to the room and look in the chest. I see a gold emerald crown and a book. I take the crown and put it on.

All of a sudden the world stops.

I cant hear anything.

I cant see.

I cant Breathe.

I fall to the ground clutching my throat while gasping for air.

My head starts pounding and a ringing sound bursts my eardrums.

Then images run through my head.

It was me, well a past me, underwater swimming faster than anything I've ever seen or even felt.

Another melting anything in her way to set free woman emprisoned on boats and carrying them to safety.

Another version is walking on land to meet with a human boy in secret sparks of lightning shooting from her as they kissed in a dark alley.

Me walking into a bar and seeing a man about to kill a woman after hours. She turned him into stone before he could plunge a knife in her chest.

Then it changes.

My aunt...mother.. handing baby me to my dad and mom. Crying walking away from me and starting a storm that caused two state flood evacuations.

I start to hear words in my head.

Spells.

The heat gathers in my throat and I hear a hum start in my throat.

The pain stops.

I look around and I see everyone at the door looking at me. The mutant banging echoing around me.

I remember.

Everything.

I hear a sizzle and step out of the room.

The mutant started to dissolve. Hissing and scratching the glass in desperation until it turned to liquid and the current took it away.

"Where is Cassius?" Rose asks.

We all look out at the water.

I put my hand to the glass and close my eyes and hum.

In my head I can see there is someone near the docks. I breathe in and the smell of Cassius and blood fills my nose.

"The docks." I say and rush out of the room and to the elevator. Jess and the girls right behind me.

We run out to Cassius and see him holding his stomach bleeding. I drop down and put my hands over the wound healing it instantly. Cassius looks up at me and touches my face.

"You remember." He says weakly.

I nod. "I remember. I'm sorry I took so long my love. Never again will I let the reincarnation spell separate us like that again. Anubis is dead, Cassius, what happened." I say.

He gets up. "The sea witch was here. She killed him and left. She had mutants ten times stronger than I have ever seen. You got to the crown before they were able to get the final kill."

Get the book and get in the water.

Mom.

I look at Cassius and walk back in the house and down the elevator.

I grab the book and it immediately opens to a page that has a spell in it to re-trap the sea witch and destroy the pendant along with that.

I memorize the spell and look around me.

"I need to get to the water. I know how to get rid of her." I stop and look at Jesse he found the Tv and turned it on while I'm over here regaining consciousness but still losing my mind.

"Jesse What-"

"Look." He interrupts

"...I repeat. If you are still in Mexico Leave now! The water is rising and is quickly starting to move its way to California, Oregon and Washington's coast lines. There are reports of people being pulled underwater and others have seen upper bodies that were ripped apart and stuck on sticks downtown. Their lower halves and Heads where not reported to be seen. If there is anyone still stuck Please make your way out in any way you can. Utah and many other middle states have medical tents and housing plans in set for all effected. May God be with us all."

Static comes from the tv and I look around.

I move towards the curtains and look out into the water. It looks Dark and demented. Like it was poisoned and is fighting to live.

I look back and everyone. Cassius moves next to me and holds me. Kissing my head.

"We need to fight. We need to fix this and still keep us a secret from the humans."

"You haven't transformed in this body yet. Are you sure we are ready." Jesse asks. Cassius puffs out his chest, upset he would question me. I put a hand on his chest and look to my brother.

"There's only one way to find out. Come on."

I move to the far wall and move a painting. Behind it is a red button, I push it and the floor starts to move into a metal pit with an opening to the lake water starts to rise and fill it. I start removing my clothes and the others do the same walking in with me.

"My mother, along with all my past selves put this in so it doesn't damage anything in here. This room is indestructible. It even has a path to and from the palace." As the water hits our bodies our true forms take over. It's slightly painful for me but once my tail forms I feel stronger than ever. My body connects with the water and I start to feel the waves pulsing, fighting the sea witches control for mine.

She can sense me as I can her.

"She is in the palace. On my throne. Cassius at my right and Kara at my left. You two guard the back." I say to the others. We make our way through the opening into the dark waters. We swim deeper and deeper 20 minuets from the safe house. I start to see light and soon stop at the front of the palace gates.

I hold my hand 0ut and melt the gates open. Mutants start moving and swimming awkwardly with their mutant legs towards us.

The same as before the mutants dissolved. Hissing and screeching as they start to dissolve trying to reach for us but turning to liquid before being able to.

We make our way through the front entrance and turn into the thrown room. I see the sea witch and freeze. She's alone. no guards or mutants around. What had me stuck was half her face and body mirrored my own, the other half must be the scientist Cassius was talking about.

She smiles at me evilly while on my throne.

"Sister, what a lovely reunion! You even brought my Crown and my betrothed."

Jesse and I look at each other. Sister?

Mother what is going on.

I am sorry child I had to. She was to evil to let roam the earth. My mother says defeated.

"She didn't tell you. Oh and I thought you were her favorite. Well we are twins. Separated at birth." She moves from the throne. Swimming down to us to be eye level with me. "Mother gave you to auntie and kept me. She was teaching me to take place as queen but once I shown how powerful I was she trapped me in this pendant. My true name is Sapphire. I am almost in full control of this host and I just need a few more humans to sacrifice and eat to restore my full power and the crown." She tries to move closer to but Kara and Rose step in her path. She smiles and waves her hand. Kara and Rose fall to the ground gasping. My eyes widen. With my mind I focus and move them behind me, sensing what's wrong I quickly fix their lungs and turn my hand to Sapphire blocking her airway now. Her eyes widen and show she didn't realize I would have more power.

"You are not fit to lead my people. You may be strong but I am stronger." I Raise her up as she tries saying spells and random items fly at me. She tries to melt me, burn me, and suffocate me with her spells but all fail, like we were in our own bubble and nothing can penetrate it.

In my head I picture her separated from the host body. A glow of white spreads around me and her. She starts screaming as she starts to separate. Both of them fall to the floor screaming and in pain as they separate slowly from each others skin. The scientist splits off and is still. Sapphire starts to lift herself up, running her hands across her siren body and starts manically laughing.

"Sister I knew you would be on my side." She gets up and I stare at her circling her. My eyes never leave my sisters. The same grey eyes as mine. I Raise my hand towards her and she reaches to grab it thinking I separated her to join her. Once I have her hand I say the spell.

I hold on as tight as I can and try to aim each power I possess at her. She screams my hand letting go and her falling to the floor. She tries to grab at my tail in panic scratching me and trying to bite off my tail. Her screams echo around me as she starts to burn from inside out. I grab her face, that is stuck in horror, and emit more heat and lightning she starts to seize and glow a fiery red. Cracks of yellow surfacing on her skin. Her eyes bulge out and blood starts spilling from her ears and eyes. The moonstone pendant shines bright around her neck and starts to move up off of her neck towards me. I let go of her and grab it in my hand and feel a hum of electricity. I just watch as she screams herself quiet. Her body turning to ashes floating inside of the pendant in my hand. Once completely inside the pendant starts to melt in my hand.

I look towards everyone, making sure they were alright.

Jesse is on the floor struggling to breathe with a huge spear poking out of his stomach.

Cassius is fine and trying to help him.

Rose is across the room holding a dead burnt Kara.

The witches spells knocked off me and to them.

I swim quickly to Jesse and Cassius. I help Cassius break off the spear, as he removes it, I start to heal him little by little. Trying my best to numb the pain for my brother. Once the spear was out my healing ability immediatly sealed up his wound and he took a huge breath. Looking at me grateful.

I move over to Rose and put a hand on her shoulder.

"I am so sorry Rose." I say to her as she quietly sobs. Losing both of her friends in one day in less than a hour. I may have just gotten my memory but I know these people from past lives. We all were supposed to make it back to this life together.

"My love, we need to see if there is more mutants and how the states are." Cassius says to me. I nod and look towards Rose. Jesse puts a hand on my shoulder and gestures me to go. He drops down and holds Rose, comforting her.

We swim around the palace together, looking first in the lab where it started. We move on high alert and find nothing. Maybe I got rid of them.

Cassius bumps into a switch revealing a trap door that opens in the floor. We swim down and see a huge lab different from the one upstairs.

Tubes lined up by the thousands with bodies floating inside. Human and mermaid. All unconscious.

Once we moved closer I notice a few tails twitch in the tubes.

"Why would you kill them all. Humans too." Cassius says is disbelief.

"They moved. I'm not risking another take over. We can repopulate our people." I say watching as they all turn to goop inside the tubes.

"These humans did nothing." He says.

"They can't know about us Cassius. They've been missing for years. Their families already grieved. Them coming back would raise to many questions."

I start to move towards the door and stop when he doesn't follow. I look at him and see he feels I did the wrong thing. I move back to him and hug him.

"My love, we have to protect our people from the evil. In every form. I am not risking any of our lives or risking us being separated again. We need to check on the human world and make sure the water stopped rising and see if mutants are still out there too." He looks at me and nods in understanding and starts to follow me out.

We swim back to where we left from the lake house and I push a hidden button on a rock nearby and the floor of the home opens for us. Swimming up we pick ourselves up to the carpeted floor and dry off as best as we can as our human witch bodies start to take form. Voices coming from the Tv we never shut off.

So far a miracle has happened and Mother Earth has decided to spare us today as the water levels have gone back to normal. In other news the CIA and FBI are currently surrounding a few areas due to a discovery of multiple grotesque looking bodies of what looks like a upper half of a mermaid with its torso a stump, having what looks to be human legs melded to the stump. More news to come later at 7pm.

Well now what.

Cassius and I look at each other

"We either kill the human race, spell the world into believing what they saw is fake like all media is, or go into hiding. Making ourselves invisible to the world but our own kind. We have to decide quickly." I say to Cassius.

He looks at me with a sad look in his eyes. He doesn't want us to be in hiding again. He knows we also cant kill the whole human population.

"Em." I look behind me, Jesse and Rose are in the water opening looking at us. "We heard everything."

"So what is the verdict." I say.

Everyone stays quiet. Jesse and Rose get dry and get dressed.

"Mind wipe them all." Cassius says.

"There will be some who won't be effected and they will come looking for us depending on who they are." I say back. " It isn't a permanent solution."

They all look at me. I roll my eyes.

"Fine, but first human that comes close to ever finding out who or where we are. They are dead." I say. They all nod.

I walk to the spell book I left by the chest and again it moves to the page I need.

Thinking of the spell in my mind I also think of the world and envision my song like a white glow encasing it making each person in it's boundary forget anything about mermaids. Sirens weren't mentioned and I want to keep it that way. From now on they will never suspect we are real at all thinking all of us are completely made up. Not even to be considered a myth.

After a few minuets I stop singing.

"It should be done." I say feeling exhausted. "I need to lay down."

Cassius grabs me bridal style and takes me to a room and lays me down.

"I'm Proud of you my love. You saved millions. In the morning we will go back to the palace and start to prepare for your return. The kingdom will be happy to know they don't have to hide anymore." He says and I smile. He kissed my forehead before walking out. I snuggle into the pillow happily and just lay there drifting off into sleep. Glad that all of this is finally over and I can finally just live the life I was meant to.
