The surgeon held up a mirror and Amber Freeman screamed. ''We did the best we could,'' the surgeon said.
Clay, Amber's boyfriend, a beautiful, reddish blonde, rockstar type, with icy blue eyes, looked at his girlfriend through the looking glass. ''I'm hideous,'' Amber sobbed.
''Don't talk like that,'' Clay said.
''How could you love a freak like me?'' Amber asked.
''I don't care about your scars,'' Clay said. ''Some of us just aren't brave enough to embrace our scars.'' Clay leaned forward and looks into Amber's dark eyes. ''Embrace your scars.''
Amber rubbed her face and ran her fingers over her scars, timid at first, but slowly more sensual. Clay felt himself grow hard between the legs, wishing he could caress her face, her massive breasts. His lust turned anger as he thought of Gale Weathers. Clay went home and grabbed the Ghostface costume, changed into it and grabbed his cellphone and voice changer and dialed Gale's number. ''Hello,'' Gale said.
Clay breathed for a minute, remaining silent for a moment. ''Hello,'' Gale said again.
''Gale Weathers,'' Ghostface said. ''It's an honor.''
''Where's the horror trivia?'' Gale said.
''I'm not like other Ghost faces,'' Ghostface said.
''That's what they all say,'' Gale said.
''Most of them will threaten to slice you open and cut out your entrails and all that boring, cliche shit, right?'' Ghostface said. ''Right?''
''What's your point?'' Gale asks. ''I'm not weak and I'm not impulsive, nor am I dumb, I'm a different Ghostface. I think like a Jigsaw, cold and calculating, only I'm Amanda unforgiving. I'm Jason or Leatherface powerful, but Michael Myers smart and stealthy.''
He hears the clicking of a gun. ''I got something for you if you show up.''
''A .357 Magnum,'' Ghostface said. ''You can't do shit to me, except blow me if I'm bored. You do look like you'd be my girlfriend's mother, well, maybe grandmother.''
''Fuck you,'' Gale said.
''See ya real soon,'' Ghostface said.
Later that night, a terrible storm raged. Gale sat in a rocking chair, holding her .357 Magnum. Her cellphone rang and she answered it. ''Hello,'' Gale said.
''Hi, Gale,'' Ghostface said. ''Have you checked the children?''
''When a Stranger Calls,'' Gale said. ''I'm impressed. ''Other Ghostface don't go that route.''
''It's a code, Gale,'' Ghostface said.
''Code for what?'' Gale asked.
Ghostface appeared behind her. ''I'm already in the house.''
He took his tactical knife and sliced open her mouth. ''Embrace your scars, Gale.''
He then slit her throat and sliced off her scalp, holding it in his hand. She slumped over and dropped the gun, seconds before hitting the ground herself, hard. We can hear his breathing, a conscious decision. He tilts his head but did it quickly and did not linger on it. He dropped the scalp, wearing black gloves, of course. He dialed a new number and waited. ''Hello?'' Chad Meeks Martin asked.
''Looking for another hookup?'' Ghostface said, using Tara's voice.
''Well, my sister's here,'' Chad said.
''We can go upstairs,'' Ghostface said.
''Sure, babe,'' Chad said. ''Come on over.''
Chad hung up and walked by his sister, seated on the sofa. Some lesbian romance played on the television. ''Where you going?'' Mindy asked.
''I'm going upstairs to clean up,'' Chad said. ''Tara's coming over.''
She went over to the window and looked out. ''It quit storming,'' Mindy said. ''I might go to a movie.''
''Thanks, Mindy,'' Chad said.
''You owe me one,'' Mindy answered.
''Big time,'' Chad said. Mindy grabbed her purse and headed out the door and started up her car. Ghostface popped up from the backseat and Mindy's finger fumbled for the ashtray to burn his cheek, Child's Play style, but she clumsily surfed through the radio stations. Dirty White Boy, by Foreigner played.
Ghostface fondled her breast. ''I know how you hate for a man to touch you, so I did it anyway, bitch.'' He jammed the tactical knife into Mindy's brain. Foam poured out of her mouth as she seized and Ghostface kept his grip steady. ''I'm not like other Ghostface's,'' Clay thought. ''I've got to remain strong, while many of them were weak. I'm not a clumsy punk kid. I want to be a big bad movie slasher; I can't be a little bitch.''
He waited until she quit shaking and waited for her to go limp before removing the tactical knife. She fell back against the door. ''Finally,'' Ghostface thought. ''Someone killed that annoying bitch.''
Ghostface went up to the house and knocked on the door. Chad opened up the door and Ghostface used his voice changer to mimic Tara's voice. ''Ready for our date, Chad?''
Chad punched Ghostface in the face. He barely moved. ''Got a hell of a punch there, Barclay,'' Ghostface said.
''What?'' Chad said.
''Lieutenant Colonel Shelton, from Child's Play 3,'' Ghostface said. ''Now you're really fucking dead.''
Ghostface grabs Chad's head. ''Peanut butter and half white milk and half chocolate milk doesn't go really well together.''
''What the fuck are you talking about?'' Chad shouted.
''Think about it,'' Ghostface said. In an homage to The Exorcist, Ghostface twisted Chad's neck around, until it was facing backwards. Ghostface grinned under the mask as he heard that satisfying crunch. Ghostface grabbed a lighter and a can of gasoline from the garage and set Chad on fire. Before torching the corpse, Ghostface said: ''Let's see if we can't make you a little darker.''
He carried Mindy over and set her next to her brother before setting both their corpses ablaze. He stood out on the front lawn and watched the house burn. There were plenty of orange and yellow flames, but he really admired the blue flames. ''The blue flames are the hottest, and the prettiest,'' Ghostface thought.
He stole Mindy's car and headed home, knowing he would have to lay low a while, to let the heat die down, but he would definitely be back someday, to play again.
