"I'mma dip."

"Really? In this kind of weather?"

"It's just a little windy, is all. I promise."

"Make sure you bring your cap."

"Yeah, yeah..." As he headed out, he could feel the current whipping at him. Heading into open waters, the sunlight fluttered through brief breaks in the clouds. "Not as bad as she said it was."

As he continued about his stroll throughout the water, he could feel the rolling waves crash upon him.

Sensing a draft of cold sweep over him, he looked up, "Sun's still shining. Why's it getting darker?"

CRUNCH!

Heartbroken, his mother found him.

    Talk about flash fiction, what a quick set up and twist ending! Took a couple reads but I realized this was narrated by something that got squished by a human... great twist in perspective! Was unexpected and fun to figure out!
