I was just walking home, okay? That’s all I was doing. I know it’s late, but I’ve done it before—cut through the park to save time. It’s not like I was asking for trouble.

At first, I thought it was nothing. You hear footsteps behind you, right? People walk places, no big deal. But this time... this time it felt off. You know when you can feel someone’s eyes on you? That cold prickle on your skin, like someone’s watching, waiting? Yeah, I felt that.

I sped up, just a little. Tried to play it cool. But he sped up too. I could hear his boots hitting the pavement harder, and that’s when it hit me: he wasn’t just walking. He was following me. I didn’t wanna believe it, so I glanced back, just quick, and there he was. Hood up, face shadowed, walking right behind me like he had all the time in the world.

So, I start running, because what else am I supposed to do? He runs too. Not like he’s in a rush, though. More like he’s having fun. Like he’s got all night to catch up.

I ducked into the trees, thinking maybe I could lose him. But I could hear him getting closer, snapping branches, crushing leaves. I was panicking. Every little sound felt like him breathing down my neck. My heart was pounding, I could barely breathe. I didn’t stop, though. I couldn’t stop.

By some miracle, I made it to the road. That’s the only reason I’m standing here, telling you this. But the whole way home, I kept looking back, terrified he was still there.

You have to believe me. He was after me. I know what I felt. And if you don’t do something now, what if next time, he doesn’t stop?

Great job building the tension in this one. ‘ He runs too. Not like he’s in a rush, though. More like he’s having fun. Like he has all night to catch up. ‘ Creepy! That would freak me out, lol.
