Movie review

Start As the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is underway, fans and critics alike reflect on the success of the previous two films. Director James Gunn, known for his mastery in merging music, comedy, and action, has been able to create a unique and vibrant universe that has captured the hearts of many. With a star-studded cast, unique characters, and breathtaking special effects, the world of Guardians has become a household name in the world of superhero movies.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy was released in 2014 and grossed over $773 million worldwide. The film was praised for its humor, soundtrack, and memorable characters. The Guardians consisted of Peter Quill, known as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon and Groot, who were all brought together to stop Ronan, a powerful villain trying to use an infinity stone to destroy the universe. The film was adored by critics and fans alike, with many citing it as one of the best superhero movies of all time.

The sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2, was released in 2017 and was equally successful. The film grossed over $863 million worldwide and was praised for its stunning visuals, music, and emotional storyline. Volume 2 followed the Guardians as they battled to protect the galaxy from a new enemy, Ego, who turned out to be Peter Quill's father. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with some applauding its emotional depth and character development while others criticized it for being too convoluted and lacking in plot.

As we approach the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating what new adventures and challenges the Guardians will face. However, recent controversy has shaken the franchise, with the firing and then rehiring of James Gunn as the director. Gunn had made controversial tweets in the past that resurfaced online and led to his initial termination. However, after much public outcry and support from cast members, Disney and Marvel reinstated Gunn, ensuring that he would complete the trilogy.

The third film will feature many of the original cast members such as Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and Dave Bautista as Drax. It has also been announced that the film will feature new characters, including Adam Warlock. The plot of the new film has been kept under wraps, with only a teaser trailer released that showed the Guardians in a new setting and a new challenge.

With the success of the previous two films and the return of James Gunn as the director, fans and critics are hopeful that Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 will be just as successful. The franchise has become known for its unique blend of humor, action, and heart and has set a new standard for superhero movies. As we await the release of this highly anticipated film, it is safe to say that the Guardians of the Galaxy have become a beloved part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will continue to entertain audiences for years to come. The characters are one of the best things this film has working in its favor. Pratt's Star-Lord is a Han Solo-like outlaw who likes to pretend that he's a rogue, but deep down he cares for a lot more and houses some deep emotional trauma. And it doesn't hurt that he's a really funny guy, too. Meanwhile, Saldana's Gamora is a more serious individual than Quill, but she too has a rigid code of honor and a troubled past as a daughter of Thanos. Drax is a man of honor as well, but he's a little off; he takes things a little too literally, and this leads to some great comedic moments.

One big surprise for this movie is how it manages to give so much personality to two largely-CGI characters. Bradley Cooper's Rocket is a wisecracking, egotistical jackass, and I love him for it. His CGI never looks out of place, and he looks just as realistic as you can expect from a talking raccoon. And Vin Diesel is a standout as Groot. He only ever says 3 words throughout the movie, but we still get the full range of emotion and personality from his expressions and vocal intonations. He's a more soft-hearted individual than Rocket, and he enjoys money as well as helping his friends.
